The 2024 class is extremely talented and compiling just 5 players is tough, so there might be some players who were left out but may still rise.
I just talked about Jeremiah a little bit in my Lynden Christian HS team preview as a player who could breakout for the Lyncs. He’s extremely dominant down low and has been working on his craft quite a bit. Last season he didn’t get much playing time, as Andrew Hommes the league MVP was on the team. Now the Lyncs have a few pieces who will be filling in the holes that the 2022 class is leaving. Wright has a solid mid-range shot but excels in the pick and roll and down low. With senior guard Tyler Sipma Tyler Sipma 6’0″ | CG Lynden Christian | 2023 State WA running the offense, the two could be one of the deadliest duos in the state. If Wright develops a consistent long range shot, he could easily develop into a top 5 player in the class.
Jacori is a player who I really think will standout and surprise quite a few people. He has the capability to become a D-1 player if he continues to perfect his craft like he’s been doing. He stands at 6’10” now and weighs about 205 pounds. He attacks the rim forcefully, being able to go up strong every time and rise above the defender for the slam. His deep shot is impressive for his size as his shooting stroke is extremely smooth. The North Central HS team will be one to watch with Jacori and his brother Juju (2025, 6’7″) leading the charge.
Payton is having an outstanding season on the football field right now, making plays in different ways. Stewart now stands at 6’7″ and will be a matchup nightmare for anyone in the class. He’s got a variety of post moves that he uses, and uses well. He rebounds outstandingly, using his body to his advantage to grab rebounds with ease. His 81 inch wingspan helps out quite a bit with that as well. He’s extremely athletic for being so tall, as he runs a 4.70 40 yard dash. He runs the floor well, being able to fill lanes easily and slam the ball home when he gets the ball as he’s headed towards the hoop.
Anthony is a phenomenal shooter from long range, one of the best in the class if you ask me. His release is fast as he only needs maybe half a second to release the ball. He was with Marysville-Pilchuk last year and during the beginning of the summer when I watched him play. He does more than just shoot, as he can attack the bucket nicely and facilitate the offense nicely setting up his teammates. His transfer to Shorecrest HS will show a lot about how Najera can adapt to new roles alongside Parker Baumann Parker Baumann 6’5″ | CG Shorecrest | 2023 State WA and company, which I don’t think the junior will have any trouble doing.
Kane has made a big jump in his game on the court over the summer to me. He attacks the rim aggressively and finishes through traffic nicely, using his body to create space from his defender. He is absolutely relentless on the boards, grabbing them even if the opposing team has taller players. He’s a menace on defense as well, not being afraid to stick his body in front of the opposing player to show his strength. He runs the floor well in transition, being able to handle the ball or fill the lanes on the outside. He’s pushing 6’5″ now, so he might not be done growing just yet. He’s poised for a big junior year with Seattle Christian.
