After watching 18 games, it was clear that Washington battle has many talented kids. The gym was filled with players of all talent levels and each game had a different star. The following players stood out as some guys with great potential.
Elijah Gillespie – 5’9 PG – Graham Kapowsin (’26)
Elijah will be one of the best guards in the state in a couple of years. Only a handful of freshmen were in attendance but Elijah was the best 14-year-old in the gym. He picked up the upperclassmen full court and had multiple steals on the ball. He also showed off great pace and the ability to get to his spots while playing within the flow of the game.
Rohan Dhaono – 6’5 SF – Fleetwood Park (’26)
Rohan is only a freshman, but you can’t tell from looking at him and surely can’t tell from watching his game. What impressed me the most about him was his feel for the game. Most young guys don’t understand the pace, angles, and rotations but Rohan was everywhere he needed to be. He contributed on the boards and on defense the most but has a great shooting form as well.
Isaiah Cunningham Isaiah Cunningham 6'4" | SG O'Dea | 2025 State WA – 6’3 SF – Lincoln (’25)
Isaiah was one of the hardest workers in the gym. As a positionless player with a ton of speed, he will grow into a very useful utility player. Already a great athlete, with some skill in every area, Isaiah has a chance to grow into a real prospect. In every game on Saturday, he made sure to get buckets in a variety of ways.
Corey Tita Corey Tita 6'3" | SG Kentwood | 2025 State WA – 6’3 SG – Kentwood (’25)
Corey is a wonderful on-ball defender. His mix of size, speed, and strength made him a terror for some guards. On offense, Corey is most comfortable on the break or in the lane but if he can improve his outside shot, Kentwood has quite the 2025 duo in Tita and St Louis and should be a problem for years to come.
Alex Elston Alex Elston 6'1" | PG Eastside Catholic | 2025 State WA – 6’0 PG – Eastside Catholic (’25)
I almost didn’t see Alex. In a showcase-style event, prominent personalities and ball-dominant players usually overpower young guards but in the final game Alex showed off how solid he is. He can score when needed but was a wonderful facilitator. A sophomore on paper but ran the show for his group like an experienced vet. Eastside will have a new leader soon.
Dominik Robinson – 6’8 PF/C – Graham Kapowsin (’24)
Dominik is the oldest of the “most potential” group but big guys usually develop later. He has wonderful hands and feet. As a former wide receiver, you can tell the athleticism and coordination is there, and he uses them to his advantage on the glass. Once Dominik gets comfortable using his size and strength, he will be a force to handle the block.
