Sharif Sharif Sharif Sharif 6'2" | PG Rice Memorial | 2023 State New E , 6’2 PG – Rice Memorial High School Class of ’23
Within moments you’ll notice that Sharif plays the game with ease. He’s a three level-scorer with the ability to create a shot anywhere on the court. That may be on the perimeter with a hang dribble and a blow-by to the rack, a mid-range post up jumper, or a three off the dribble; his bag is deep. Sharif has great vision too and can drop dimes off of the dribble drive or in transition. He has a great sense of pace and space, never playing rushed but rather getting to his spots and doing damage on his own accord. Defensively, he uses his length well, bothering shots and rarely overplaying. He rebounds well for a guard too and once he secures the rock it’s attack mode. Sharif is one of VT’s maestros.
Tyler Bergmans Tyler Bergmans 6'2" | SG South Burlington | 2024 State New E , 6’1 PG – South Burlington High School Class of ’24
A swiss army knife type player, Bergmans can do a bit of everything. He’s a coast-to-coast threat off the rebound, capable of finishing strongly at the rim through contact or setting up a teammate for an open bucket. One thing I like most about Tyler is that he can orchestrate with the ball in his hands, creating looks spontaneously, or he can play off the ball, making timely cuts and flashes to gaps. His jumper is fluid in the mid to short range as well as from deep. Overall, his offense is rather efficient. Tyler is a heady guard looking to make a splash as he transfers into D1 this year.
Mo Kanneh, 6’7 F – Rice Memorial High School Class of ’23
Big Mo is as compelling as they come; he has a strong frame, great athleticism, and the ability to eliminate the paint from the opponents shot chart. Kanneh is a defensive mastermind, often talking and telling teammates where to funnel opponents or calling out screens. If guards get beat, Mo is a stout presence in the lane, clogging passing lanes and making opponents second guess their shots with massive blocks. Offensively, Mo is comfortable inside and out, passing well on the perimeter and can handle it a little as well, although he does most his damage in the paint. He’s a solid pick-and-roll player who can finish at the rim with a jam or in the short range, and he couples that with a smooth turnaround jumper out of the post. Kanneh is one of VT’s premier bigs.
Tedum Tornwini , 6’1 CG – Burlington High School Class of ’23
Tedum is one of those guys that can make a whole gym turn and look. He’s got serious bounce, attacking the rim for jams whenever he gets the chance. And on the defensive end that manifests with a lot of volleyball spikes and pins off the glass. Tornwini gets into the teeth of the defense too with his quick dribble drive, finishing at the rim or kicking with a nice pass to the perimeter. He’s got a strong frame, incredible athleticism and a calm disposition. I like his game.
Elijah Duprey, 5’11 PG – Vergennes Union High School Class of ’23
Long and quick, Elijah is a hawk on the ball. He reads ballhandlers well and can cut off driving lines with his length and anticipation. Moreover, his pick and roll defense is stellar. He communicates and adjusts his defensive coverage quickly depending on the personnel; he gets over screens with ease and can hedge well as an off-ball defender too. Offensively, Duprey is effective around the rim, snaking his way into the lane and finishing through contact or dishing for open looks. With the ball in his hands. Elijah can orchestrate the offense well, probing for opportunities both in transition and in the halfcourt. Flat out, Duprey is a competitor.
