20) Grant Polk Grant Polk 6'7" | PF St. Albans | 2025 State #378 Nation MD | 6’5” Gainesville (#75 Overall)
Polk is set for a big junior season at Gainesville where he’ll likely have the offense run through him and he’s a walking mismatch at the high school level. The 6’5” big is a knock down shooter from deep who can stretch the defense, he’s a great passer who can hit cutters and initiate the offense and he rebounds against guys much bigger than him.
19) Walker Conrad Walker Conrad 6'7" | PF Strasburg | 2024 State VA | 6’8” Strasburg (#70 Overall)
Conrad is set to make a big jump in the next rankings and have some college coaches come his way if he can have a big junior season at Strasburg. At 6’8” he has a great frame and is strong in the paint as a rebounder and defender, he’s skilled enough to step outside where he can make shots and stretch the defense and he has soft touch with both hands around the rim.
18) Elijah Washington Elijah Washington 6'7" | PF Lake Taylor | 2024 State VA | 6’6” Lake Taylor (#68 Overall)
Washington is also a football star at Lake Taylor and he plays basketball with that same mix of physicality, athleticism and energy he brings to the football field. At 6’6” he plays much bigger as he has very long arms and is quick and explosive off his feet, he’s a big time rim protector that can block shots hep side but can also switch onto guards and wings and he cleans up around the rim and runs the floor hard too.
17) Gabriel Coulthurst Gabriel Coulthurst 6'6" | PF Stone Bridge | 2024 State VA | 6’6” Stone Bridge (#64 Overall)
While Coulthurst is a star on the football field and that’s likely his future, there’s a lot on the basketball court to like as well as he makes an impact in so many different ways. He plays with physicality and a super high motor on both ends of the floor, he moves extremely well for his size and offensively he’s a mismatch with his skillset and size.
16) Terrence Bethea | 6’4” Potomac (#61 Overall)
Bethea is another dual sport athlete that shines on both the football field and the hardwood, and he’s shown his dedication to basketball playing in fall leagues and such during the football season too. Bethea is a blue collar player who gets after it on both ends of the floor, cleans up the glass and does the dirty work and is productive and efficient as a scorer while also hitting the glass hard.
15) Matthew Shelton Matthew Shelton 6'5" | PF Evergreen Christian | 2024 State VA | 6’5” Evergreen Christian (#58 Overall)
Shelton recently reclassified to the 2024 class and he’s drawing attention from college coaches and could be moving up the rankings if he has a big season. While he may be a little undersized traditionally for the position he has that new age undersized forward type of game as he can play on the perimeter and knock down shots, he’s athletic and thrives in the uptempo system and he can rebound against guys bigger than him and start the break.
14) Ed Harrison Ed Harrison 6'6" | PF Miller School | 2024 State VA | 6’5” Miller School (#50 Overall)
Harrison will be an x-factor for this talented Miller School team that should be one of the favorites to win the VISAA D2 state title, and he’s starting to look more aggressive and be more consistent this year. He’s a big body who looks like he’d be a pounder in the post, but really he’s a perimeter oriented big who can knock down shots from deep, attack the glass offensively and he moves his feet surprisingly well.
13) Blake Neal Blake Neal 6'6" | PF St. Stephen's & St. Agnes | 2024 State VA | 6’5” St, Stephen’s St. Agnes (#49 Overall)
Neal is set for a breakout season after transferring to SSSAS and reclassifying, and the way he’s played this summer and fall makes me think he’ll reach that. He’s a new aged four who can play on the perimeter and gets up and down the floor, he is an aggressive slasher and can finish at the rim and crash the offensive glass for extra opportunities and he’s a versatile defender who can switch and sit and guard the ball.
12) Elijah Adegbenro Elijah Adegbenro 6'4" | PF Fairfax Christian | 2024 State VA | 6’4” Fairfax Christian (#48 Overall)
Adegbenro transferred from Potomac Falls and reclassified to the 2024 class and he should be a welcome addition to the reigning state champion Fairfax Christian. While he’s classically undersized he’s also the type of new aged four man that can guard multiple positions defensively, uses his length and athleticism to score it around the rim and rebounds well on both ends and he plays with a great motor on both ends of the floor.
11) Isaiah Vick Isaiah Vick 6'7" | PF Patriot | 2024 State VA | 6’6” Patriot (#45 Overall)
Vick is the type of player that just oozes potential and upside and once he’s able to put it together and become more consistent there’s no doubt in my mind that college coaches will love him. At 6’6” he has long arms and is a natural athlete who runs the floor and moves well, he has a good inside-out skillset and is comfortable on the perimeter where he can knock down shots and put it on the deck and the way he moves he has tons of upside on the defensive end moving forward.
