5) [player_tooltip player_id='1260038' first='Ulysses' last='Young'] | 5'11” Oscar Smith (#56 Overall)

Not sure why we put Young in this category instead of in the point guard section and it likely was just a mistake of our labeling but I will keep him in this group because of that and talk about why he's one of the best young guards in the 757. “Chubb” is an old-school floor general to a “t” as he has tremendous feel and control of the game, he can deliver every pass in almost every situation you can think of, he has terrific instincts on both ends of the floor and people love to play with him because he makes the game so easy.

4) [player_tooltip player_id='1580730' first='Dezmond' last='Hopkins'] | 6'0” Patriot (#55 Overall)

Hopkins is going to have a big season if he wants to help Patriot get back to the state tournament and possibly win it this year, as he was somewhat of a surprise last season but no one will be surprised now. He was a perfect spark plug off the bench coming in and showing he can get buckets quickly and in bunches, he attacks the paint hard and has a number of finishes over bigger defenders he can employ and he also brings great energy and good motor on both ends of the floor.

3) [player_tooltip player_id='999627' first='Wesley' last='Williams'] | 6'1” Fairfax Christian (#54 Overall)

Williams was one of the best guards in the NOVA area over the past three seasons at Independence before deciding to transfer and reclassify at Fairfax Christian where his versatility at the two guard spots will come in handy in different lineups. He's a highly skilled combo who can shoot it well from deep off the catch and off the bounce, he can break guys down and has terrific feel and vision and is very unselfish and he has a smoothness to his game where he just makes it look easy.

2) [player_tooltip player_id='1259634' first='Gavin' last='Cormany'] | 6'1” Radford (#23 Overall)

It seems like the past six years or so when you talk about the best players in the 540 area code you have to mention a Cormany near the top as the Radford basketball family is a staple in that area and the youngest Cormany, Gavin is continuing that tradition. The first word that comes t mind when you think of Cormany is “moxxy” as the 6'1” guard plays with a toughness on both ends of the floor, he's an absolute dead eye shooter who can get hot quickly and drill it with consistency and he has more off the bounce than he's given credit for as well.

1) [player_tooltip player_id='1117676' first='Josiah' last='Rickards'] | 6'3” Catholic (#20 Overall)

There always seems to be one Rickards in every class ranking, in which a player has shown he's one of the best at what he does in the area and I'm still banging my head against the wall trying to tell people they're still sleeping on him somehow. The 6'3” combo is as smooth as they come as he gets to spots he wants to off the bounce and has great footwork and mechanics to get open and make tough shots, he has effortless range from deep, he's a good finisher in traffic, he's unselfish and makes others better and he competes and brings it every time he's in a big matchup.
