But, there are plenty of transfers and reclassified players that are poised for major breakthrough seasons. Here are a few transfers players that could have major seasons this year:
As you can see, Betsey was very highly-ranked on the Prep Hoops New England 2024 rankings. But, the spot is well-deserved. He’s received offers from high-major programs and was ranked 68th on the recent 247Sports national rankings. Betsey is now at St. Thomas More after playing exceedingly well this summer with NY Rens. Betsey is an all-around, 3-level scorer. He’s a great 3-point shooter either off-the-dribble or via the catch-and-shoot. He’s got an elite mid-range pull-up game, too.
Mela is another highly-ranked prospect that’s decided to switch programs. After attending Natick High School, Mela will now play for The Newman School this season. Playing for the Middlesex Magic this summer, Mela impressed a lot of people thanks to his athleticism, 3-level scoring, and rebounding. He’s a player that’s going to make a significant impact at the latest school he joins.
Reclassifying to 2025, Quinn is North Quincy’s best and brightest player. He’s an excellent 3-point shooter, and he’s great at locating his spots on the court. He can shoot from deep off-the-dribble and off-the-catch. Defensively, he has very good timing and instincts on the perimeter. He’s also an underrated athlete, and he has the ability to spring up off the court.
Abdullah, a Northwest Catholic graduate, has elected to enroll in a post-graduate year to play for DME Academy. He’s a 3&D wing that’s got great shooting and off-ball movement ability, Abdullah is going to bring a lot of versatility to this next school. Defensively, Abdullah is an above average shot blocker and rim protector for the position.
The Hamilton-Wenham product is going to be taking a post-graduate year to play with Bridgton Academy this upcoming season. Nordin is a highly-versatile, highly-athletic wing that can shoot well and play on-ball defense effectively. After having a strong summer, Nordin is hoping to build off the momentum and impress in a loaded NEPSAC AAA this season.
