There are a handful of players who are both top of the game in basketball and football, today we look at some NJ Hoopsters to watch on the gridirion this fall. While their futures lie in football, these five players are also impactful on the basketball court in a big way.

[player_tooltip player_id='1150261' first='Will' last='Surdez'] | 6'3” | G| Colts Neck

Forget two sports, Surdez plays three. A big bodied guard at 6'3"-210, Surdez uses that football mentality to be a very physical hooper. Athletic, explodes off the dribble. Good in the mid range but has no issue playing in the low block. He's going to make a run at 1,000 points. Surdez had 26 vs Keyport, 25 vs Lacey and 24 vs Middletown North and Matawan. He's an All-Shore kid in multiple sports and has a football future---but he could easily play basketball at the college level if he wanted.

[player_tooltip player_id='1017196' first='Zion' last='Fowler'] | 6'1” | G | Saint Peter's Prep

An explosive guard who is going to play football at the University of Pittsburgh. He's best in the open court...Need evidence? Look for the Dunk Heard Around The World against Hudson Catholic..It's out there. He can step beyond the arc but also hits the boards. Another player who could go into college hoops if football wasn't the preferred future.

[player_tooltip player_id='1013064' first='Ted' last='Gregoire'] | 6'6” | F| Hudson Catholic

Made noise with his football minded transfer to Hudson Catholic as Vanderbilt looms. On the hardwood, Gregoire is an immovable object at 6'6" 250+--of rock solid muscle. Hudson Catholic had guards but Ted gives them a double-double type post presence that can also handle the ball and run the floor in their offense.

[player_tooltip player_id='1150466' first='Donovan' last='McKoy'] | 6'6” | F | St Joes Montvale 2023

A two sport star for St Joes, McKoy had a good junior year in hoops but is a D1 receiver. An athletic wing that uses explosiveness to attack the rim and get above defenders. More than a slasher, he can hit from all spots on the floor and has a good form on his jumper. He averaged 15ppg last year, with 22 vs Wayne Valley and 20 vs DePaul. Football is his future but he's a scholarship level basketball player.

[player_tooltip player_id='1150461' first='Sherif' last='Guinyard'] , 6'6 SF St. Thomas Aquinas 2023

An athletic wing on the basketball team, Guinyard is at his best in the open floor scoring in transition. He's got a big frame and can play through contact. He hits the boards hard and is a key role player for the powerful Trojans team. His future also lies on the gridiron but he's an all-county basketball prospect as well.
