Section 7AAAA Rundown
Right now the depth of talent at Andover and Duluth East are a step ahead of everybody else. Duluth East may have been our preseason number one had Isaac Nywakundi not went to prep school out east. The Hounds have a really nice group of guards with some size in the middle that have waited for their chance. That said, the Musungu/Kopetzki duo led their team to state last season and are expected to do the same this year. Both are 20 point per game level players with Kopetzki headed to CSP and Musungu working on what high academic football option he wants to take. That pair and Nelson (who is throwing TD passes to Musungu this fall) will lead the way. Forest Lake’s junior class has a chance to make them very good this year and while Coon Rapids lost a ton from their senior class, they should only take a step back as opposed to several. Cambridge has some shooters that will be tough to stop and they finished last winter on a good note. Centennial was much better last year than expected but unfortunately most of their starting line-up graduated. This section will likely come down to the Huskies and Hounds with Andover hungry for another shot at earning a spot in the final four.
