Ibraheem Morsy Ibraheem Morsy 6'2" | CG Brighter Horizons Academy | 2023 State TX 2023 6’2 Brighter Horizon Academy
Ibraheem is continuing to develop as a prospect, improving his athleticism and his already impressive ball handling skills. He is great at turning the corner and getting by defenders in the half-court. He has an array of dribble moves and spins that he is comfortable with getting to in the lane and can finish with the best of them in the paint. He has a nasty little hop-step that he loves to get to, constantly getting by his on ball defender, even within the half court. He has a consistent set jump shot, consistently knocking down shots from atop the key, the wings and deep in the corners. He is great quickly getting his shot up off the catch, even after running off an off ball screen. Morsy also runs the floor well, being a constant option running his lanes and maintaining his spacing. He had a few plays running the floor and finishing at a high level at the rim.
Trey Evans Trey Evans 6'4" | SG New Home | 2023 TX 2023 6’4 New Home High School
Highlights
Trey is a high level shooting guard who will knock down any shot the defense gives him. He is an incredibly patient player, and always attacks the open space when he sees it. I was very impressed by his ability to get his own shot off, and how he was able to hunt for different looks across all three levels. He is a killer out of the corners, patiently waiting for a cross court pass to catch the defense off guard. He has a very reliable handle, calmly getting to his spots but also showing off his ability to handle the ball and initiate offense off of the defensive attention he receives. He patiently reacts to his defender, if he closes out hard, he attacks the rim hard after an up fake. If not, he immediately punishes you for not having a hand in his face. His ability to find his own shot in the corners was very impressive, and will be a skill that does not disappear at the next level. His variety and balanced scoring option he can bring to any team at an elite level is nothing to sniff at. At his size, he looks to have all the tools to successfully play the 2 or the 3 spot at the next level.
Caleb Smith Caleb Smith 6'1" | SG Keller - Timber Creek | 2023 TX 2023 6’0 Timber Creek High School
Highlights
Caleb is continuing to develop as an all around player, scoring at will from all three level, successfully attacking the rim and destroying on ball defenders with a series of crossovers. He really impressed with his ability to do it consistently across all three levels of the floor, knocking down shots in the corner off the catch and awarely attacking hard closeouts. Smith is a high level guard with a tight handle, allowing him to get up and down the floor. He gets past the first defender, draws the attention in the defense and then dimming up his teammates with the right pass, skipping it past the help defense. He is already an elite facilitator in the full court and the half court. He makes all of the right reads within the flow of the half court offense. I was very impressed by his ability to facilitate and generate offense for his team. Be on the lookout for his stock to rise real soon!
Josiah Jackson Josiah Jackson 6'3" | PG International Leadership Of Texas Arlington-Grand Prairie | 2023 TX 2023 6’1 Lake Ridge High School
Highlights
Josiah is a special guard who seems to grow in leaps and bounds every time I see him step on the court. He has a tremendous motor, allowing him to fly up and down the court relentlessly on both ends. Jackson has the ability to find any space within the full court and use his agility and athleticism to get through tight spots on the floor. He has an incredibly consistent handle which he uses to shift his opponent off balance and then quickly attack the rim. Defensively, he uses his length and motor to wreak havoc and make his opponents very uncomfortable. He moves his feet well to stay in front of his opponents and has active hands to tip passes in and play in the passing lanes. Jackson is one of those kids who with the amount of rapid development I have seen over the last year and a half, has all the tools to become an effective player at the next level. I would love to see a college coach get his hands on this kid’s mind and motor and develop him into the player I know he can become.
