After watching a ton of basketball on Saturday at the Prep Hoops New England Top-250 expo, there were many familiar (and unfamiliar) faces. Now, I'm going to talk about some of those unfamiliar faces that caught my attention. Here are five new names to know from the Top-250 showcase:

[player_tooltip player_id='1578505' first='Cameron' last='Vedovelli'] 6'1" Pope Francis Preparatory School 2023

Vedovelli was one of the best shooters at the New England Top-250 expo, and he flashed a good-looking shot and clean release. The 6'1" guard can create off-the-dribble and is an excellent catch-and-shoot player. He's also able to finish around the rim, and he's just a solid off-the-dribble creator. That ability to create allows Vedovelli to involve teammates. He's an underrated name to know entering the 2023 season.

[player_tooltip player_id='1578572' first='Peter' last='Gellene'] 6'0" Catholic Memorial 2024

Gellene is a solid finisher and a great off-ball movement player. He was constantly moving around the court on Saturday. He's also a knockdown shooter and displayed solid mechanics during warmups and in-game. Gellene is a well-rounded offesive player as well, as he can score on off-the-dribble pull-ups. Gellene is another player that's coming along nicely, and he's certainly a newer name in the market to get to know.

[player_tooltip player_id='1578531' first='Jake' last='Steinmann'] 6'0" North Middlesex Regional 2025

Steinmann has continued growing and developing as a 6'0" guard. It's clear that he's worked on his game extensively in the gym, and it showed on Saturday's Prep Hoops showcase. Steinmann has grown as an outside shooter, and the mechanics look great. He's also improved on the inside as a finisher. He's just continuing to progress in the right direction, and he's a 2025 new name to know.

[player_tooltip player_id='1532483' first='Nate' last='McCleery'] 6'2" Hamden Hall 2025

McCleery, another 2025 propsect, is a player to watch out for. The 6'2" guard can shoot the basketball extremely well, and he's an all-around offensive weapon. On Saturday, he did a lot of the little things right like making the right rotations, the proper reads, and playing help defense. McCleery is rising up the 2025 rankings, and he's certainly going to continue improving and developing.

[player_tooltip player_id='1532516' first='Patrick' last='Madden'] 5'9" Hopedale 2025

Madden is a young, quick guard that's a great off-ball movement player. He moves really, really well without the basketball. Throughout Saturday, he was constantly trying to find ways to set up his teammates while playing off-ball - setting screens and flaring to the corner in transition. The movement and constant activity opens up a lot of lanes for his teammates. He's an underrated scorer, and a player that's going to make a lot of strides in the coming years.
