Highlights
Mcnair is a highly skilled big man that looks to still be growing. It took him a little bit to get going, but was highly efficient around the basket with either hand and had unbelievable footwork for only being a Junior. I thought he also had a great feel around the basket which was impressive. He also showcased his ability to step out to 3pt range where he made a pick and pop 3 in transition. The skill set is there, if he continues to grow and expand his game, the sky is the limit.
Blakeman put on a full display at the Expo. When you look at him, you would think he’s a Senior. Strong/physical player that is very polished and just has a knack of scoring the ball. Was impressed how he drove through initial contact and it didn’t slow him down. Can shoot both off the dribble and off the catch as well. Great size, great skill, will be one of the best players in the state for the next few years.
Stone flat out competed. Early in the day shots weren’t falling but that didn’t stop him from defending, rebounding, pushing the tempo etc. He is one of the strongest 2025’s physically I have seen this year. As the day went on he started to get more aggressive scoring the ball. Loved how he got downhill on drives and was crafty around the basket with either hand. Made a couple 3’s from deep off the catch, but he was at his best in transition and driving the basketball. Amare has a ton of potential.
Finley is a hooper. High IQ , understands the game, plays way beyond his years. Never got sped up, made all the right plays. Very good athlete. Got a couple easy baskets just being smart, cutting, changing pace, things that normal Sophomore’s don’t do. Has 3pt range both off the catch and dribble. Had one of the best plays of the day coming off a screen hitting a game winner from 3. Great elevation on his jumpshot as well. Sky is the limit for him.
It took a while for Smith to get it going but when he did he took over. Smooth guard that can play any of the guard positions. Very fluid with the ball, can tell the game comes very natural to him. Loved ow shifty he was, had a good handle. Has an effortless shot that can score from deep 3pt range. Seemed like the game comes easy to him and rises to competition. Can’t wait to see him in a game this season. Another young talented player that has a very high ceiling.
