Greg Heiar became the new Head Coach for New Mexico State Men's Basketball this past March. He recently held the "Greg Heiar Elite Basketball Camp" this past August 20th and 21st for 9th-12th graders in high school. Campers received the opportunity to learn from the Western Athletic Conference Champions' coaching staff and compete on the court in the Pan American Center. This camp included hands-on instruction, individual skill development and competitions. Each camper received a Greg Heiar Basketball Camp branded t-shirt. Here was a few of the players who attended.

[player_tooltip player_id='1158654' first='Daniel' last='Steverson'] from V.Sue Cleveland High School is going into his junior year. He has quickly become one of the top players in the state and has been a three-year varsity player which includes a state championship from his freshman year.

[player_tooltip player_id='1176301' first='Latavious' last='Morris'] the freshman standout from last season heads into his sophomore year as one of the states most electrifying point guards and young players. He showed flashes last season of stardom and will take the next step in his game this season.

[player_tooltip player_id='1076702' first='Shane' last='Douma-Sanchez'] the Two-Time 4A-District Player of the year and 2021 4A State Champion is heading into his Senior season with a solid resume. After leading Del Norte to their first State Championship in school history as a sophomore, he helped them make back to back State Championship game appearances last season, he looks to do it for a third time this year.

[player_tooltip player_id='1069704' first='Dylan' last='Chavez'] the star from ABC Prep has received several D1 offers to play at the next level. Going into his junior year, he should receive many more offers by the time he graduates in 2024.

[player_tooltip player_id='1230778' first='Daniel' last='Jacobsen'] just recently was offered a D1 offer from New Mexico State University and is going to be the best big man in New Mexico for the next two seasons. At his size at 7'1, he will be a handful for opposing teams and will only get stronger and better by the time he's a senior.

Chris Parra the four-year varsity player for Atrisco Heritage is poised for a breakout senior year. With his leadership and high basketball IQ, he will help Atrisco Heritage be in the conversation as one of the favorites to win the 5A State Championship. He is a efficient three-point shooter and solid play-maker for the Jaguars.

[player_tooltip player_id='1124213' first='Sean' last='Alter'] the big man for Volcano Vista played a huge role in guiding the Hawks to their 5A State Championship vs Las Cruces last season as a junior. At his size, he is a huge force in the paint on both sides of the ball and will be a big X-Factor in Volcano Vista's success this season.

[player_tooltip player_id='1176300' first='Kenyon' last='Aguino'] was the hero in last year's 5A State Championship game, now going into his sophomore year, he will be looked at as Volcano Vista's primary #1 scoring option. He plays like an old school big that has every fundamental trick in his post game. Kenyon can stretch the floor with his outside shot that makes him unguardable.

[player_tooltip player_id='1076699' first='Gideon' last='Harris'] is a versatile wing player that can play multiple positions on the floor. He is an all-around player that affects the game in various ways and can control the game in many aspects. He is a fun player to watch and when he gets going in the zone, is a force to be reckoned with.

[player_tooltip player_id='1076701' first='Judah' last='Casaus'] was one of the most talented players who participated in this camp. He was one of the very few two-way players that can dominate on both ends of the floor. Along with his athletic ability, Judah has become a lethal outside shooter who can space the floor. His defense leads to many scoring opportunities on the other end of the floor.

[player_tooltip player_id='1076709' first='Caleb' last='Carr'] the Las Cruces big man will play a big role for the Bulldawg's this season. After losing their two best players this past year to graduation, Caleb and the rest of the Las Cruces roster will be asked to produce more to remain successful next season.
