Let’s start with JP Estrella JP Estrella 6'11" | C Brewster Academy | 2023 State #45 Nation NLG , the Brewster Academy product and Tennessee-bound prospect. Estrella’s combination of jump-shooting, shot-blocking and rebounding were pivotal for the Middlesex Magic this past summer. Estrella was the highest-ranked New Hampshire player on the rankings, clocking in at the fourth spot.
His teammate at Brewster Academy, Taylor Bowen Taylor Bowen 6'9" | SF Brewster Academy | 2023 State #32 Nation NLG is heading to Florida State. He was two spots behind Estrella, coming in at sixth overall. Bowen is a wing that has excellent ball-handling skills in transition. He’s an elite open floor defender thanks to his fluidity and long strides.
A few spots below Estrella and Bowen is Davidson-bound and Phillips Exeter Academy prospect Michael Loughnane Michael Loughnane 6'3" | SG Phillips Exeter | 2023 State NLG is sitting at twenty-fourth. He’s a 3-level scorer and elite facilitator in the half-court. Another Brewster Academy player – Sawyer Mayhugh Sawyer Mayhugh 6'10" | PF Brewster Academy | 2023 State NLG – is ranked 102nd, and he’s likely to skyrocket up the rankings with another impressive season. He’s a great interior rebounder and a go-to finisher.
Maine-bound Logan Carey Logan Carey 6'2" | CG St. Paul’s | 2023 State NLG is all the way at thirty-fourth. The St. Paul’s player is an athletic two-way guard who is a developing passer. New Hampton’s Stephan Snagg Stephan Snagg 6'7" | SF New Hampton School | 2023 State NLG is sixtieth. He’s a lengthy wing that brings shot-blocking and finishing.
Lastly, Matt Lamy Matt Lamy 6'4" | SG St. Paul's | 2023 State NLG ranks just outside the top-170 at 171st. The St. Paul’s School (and Colby-bound) prospect is an excellent 3-point shooter off-the-dribble and off-the-catch.
While there are much more players in the region that are talented, the players listed have attracted a lot of attention with their skillset. We’ll have more state breakdowns coming in the next few days at Prep Hoops New England.
