I’m going to give you 5 players that I’ve messed up on in some way. Maybe they were ranked too low. Maybe they should have been included in a past article. Maybe I just don’t write about them enough. Either way, I owe them, so here they are.
Marlan was the inspiration for this article. We had an article going over the Lansing area’s top 10. I missed his name, but he should have been on the list. He’s skilled guard that carries a smooth jumper. Marlan plays a high IQ game, keeping his mental mistakes to a minimum.
This is an older mistake, but a mistake nonetheless. I was way too late to the Simon Neuheaus party. This young man can play. His jumper is pure and he uses his physical stature to create looks at the rim and paths to it.
Highlights
I should have seen it earlier. Ross is a baller! He showed me what was up at the David Barns Showcase. He’s as gritty as they come and flat out gets it done on both ends of the floor. Ross carries some versatility and can find his own looks as well as score in the flow of the game.
This kid is talented as can be and my ranking of him right now has me shaking my head. Sorry Darrius, I got you on the update. This athletic and bouncy forward has so many tools on his toolbelt. He can rebound, handle, and play the game at a fast pace.
I have to do better for Gabe Sweat Gabe Sweat 5’10” | PG Monroe | 2023 State MI . I’ve written about him and his strengths before, but I haven’t followed up with the ranking adjustment. It’s coming my friend. Sweat is a heady lead guard that’s willing and able to run the offense and feed the hot hand.
