Prep Hoops Illinois was in the gym Sunday at AAYou Leagues Fall League which was held at Greater Purpose Athletics in Schaumburg. Here are our thoughts on the day in AAYou Leagues Sunday Notebook!

IC Catholic Senior Duo Leads to Win Over GPA 50-42

There were a pair of IC Catholic seniors who made an impression to start off the day in their victory. Dominik Ciegotura is a 6'5” power forward that brings toughness on the glass as an excellent area rebounder finishing around the hoop with craftiness. Kal Kilgast is a tough wing that is at his best putting it on the deck for scoop shots and spin moves.

The GPA side was led by St. Viator 2025 point guard [player_tooltip player_id='1385294' first='Joey' last='Hernandez']. Quick lead guard that regularly got in the paint converting difficult layups along with several deep threes.

Hampshire 2023 Wings Put Name on Map in Win Against Hoopstars 42-34

The second game Hampshire got a W behind a pair of senior wings. [player_tooltip player_id='1295519' first='Joey' last='Costabile'] is a two guard that is super gritty scoring in the lane on put backs, post ups, and mid-range jumpers. Keyshaun Davis is a lefty small forward that hit a trio from deep in the win.

[player_tooltip player_id='1766500' first='Ricky' last='Divito'] is a smaller scoring point guard that was the go to guy especially early for Hoopstars. Tough as nails guard that slashes scoring on difficult shots in the lane. Senn rangy senior wing Noah Abraham got off to a slow start, but as the game went along he showed some upside as an athletic scorer off the bounce.

Evanston Holds On Behind Star 43-40 vs Lake Zurich

The Wildkits scored a close win against Lake Zurich on Sunday. Early on transfer point guard [player_tooltip player_id='1279759' first='Hunter' last='Duncan'] had it working. Straight line takes and flashy passing. Their top prospect [player_tooltip player_id='1215286' first='Prince' last='Adams'] then took over as the game went on. One of the better available big men on the board in the senior class. Explosive baseline take for an and-1. Followed that up with several more dunks in transition and on dump offs. Showed well defensively as a shot blocker and active defender.

Lake Zurich played back to back games and didn't fare as well in the second, but this game a trio of prospects caught our attention. Brendan Powers is a small forward that can play on the ball as well. Handles it and hit an array of threes. [player_tooltip player_id='1598763' first='Noah' last='Kyrychenko'] is a well built wing that showed some scoring pop. [player_tooltip player_id='1750613' first='Nick' last='Popovic'] is a 2024 two guard that can really shoot it from beyond the arc.

Niles Notre Dame Extremely Impressive with New Names

It was quite a show that Niles Notre Dame put on recording a 77-21 win over Lake Zurich. This squad lost a ton of highly ranked transfers, but made up for it with depth and shot making. [player_tooltip player_id='1598676' first='Connor' last='Mosele'] is a 2023 shooting guard that was excellent shooting it from the perimeter. Good size wing that a small college should take a shot at. Two other seniors that made an impression were point guard Rory Robbins and Yann Kouotou. Robbins is a quick guard that had nifty finishes and was a playmaker while Kouotou is a four man that brings strength up front playing with physicality. They have some younger prospects to keep an eye on as well in Liam Ingles and [player_tooltip player_id='1434463' first='Brady' last='Sehlhorst']. Ingles is a lead guard that was electric with his passing flair. Sehlhorst is a plus shooter with good athleticism and size in 2025.

Prospect Scores Victory in Double OT Thriller

Prospect recorded a win 61-59 over UConn who was made up of players from a variety of high schools. [player_tooltip player_id='1750612' first='Frankie' last='Poshnjari'] scored the game winner in double overtime. Strong bodied wing that can score inside and outside. [player_tooltip player_id='2105292' first='Ben' last='Schneider'] shot it very well from his point guard position while Alex Georgekas proved to be a crafty wing scorer on an array of tough takes.

Liked what we saw from [player_tooltip player_id='1598652' first='Anestis' last='Hadjistamoulou'] who is a 2025 guard. He was a big time shot maker on the other side. Mixed in a couple drives, but it was mostly his perimeter shot making that stood out.

Two 2026s Catch Our Attention in Last Game of Day

In the finale there were a pair of freshman that put their name on our radar. Strong bodied small forward [player_tooltip player_id='2323255' first='Jordan' last='Williams'] of Fremd was excellent getting on the offensive glass for second chance points and putting it on the deck. [player_tooltip player_id='2217962' first='Evan' last='Nagler'] has some projectability at the point. Made several nice dishes and displayed a clean mid-range shot.
