Here are some 2023 forwards that became stock risers these past few months.
J.J. Morris J.J. Morris 6'6" | SF Argos | 2023 State IN – 6’6 – SF – Argos: Morris has been on the radar as one of the more overlooked players in the 2023 class for the past few seasons but finally seemed to get over that hump this past summer playing with Grand Park Premier 2023 Black. Has always played more of that playmaker role due to his skill at the wing and in the paint. Has also proved to be a capable shooter at times and he is just so smart of taking advantage of mismatches. Finally gained that first offer with Manchester University which will surely open up more offers on that level.
Alex Romack Alex Romack 6'6" | PF Westfield | 2023 State IN – 6’6 – SF – Westfield: You can arguably make a case that Romack is the biggest stock riser in the entire 2023 class from outstanding performance after outstanding performance this entire summer. Originally playing on the Grand Park Premier 2023 Black squad at the beginning, his consistent great play resulted in him moving up to play with the Grand Park Premier UAA team. He has incredible athletic ability, very mobile, and plays so hard at the rim. Only thing he is missing is more consistent outside jumper. Has an offer from Hope College with more likely on the table very soon.
Preston Roberts Preston Roberts 6'5" | SF Noblesville | 2023 State IN – 6’5 – SF – Noblesville: Roberts has someone that has always impressed with his smoothness and athletic ability. He scored the ball so well and thought that his creativeness in the lane and around the rim was at another level. Although he is ranked in the top 30 in our rankings, I strongly feel he is still one of the more underrated players in the entire 2023 Indiana class and could play at that low-major and maybe mid-major level. He is a versatile wing that can provide scoring at a high level. Only has a Costal Carolina offer but should have more once the high school season gets going.
Gavin Wisley Gavin Wisley 6'8" | PF Bloomington South | 2023 State IN – 6’8 – PF – Bloomington South: Wisley made a splash this summer playing for Indiana Elite Central and proved to be one of the more versatile forwards in the 2023 class and especially in the southern Indiana area. He is a true stretch four in every sense of the way and works well off the catch or off pick-and-pops. At 6’8, you would often expect him to play more post, which he does, but he is at him best when he can pull his defender and work 15ft and out. Due to his great play, he received multiple offers/interest from D3 and NAIA levels schools. Should be Bloomington South’s best player this upcoming high school season.
Brandon Trilli Brandon Trilli 6'5" | SF Munster | 2023 State IN – 6’5 – SF – Munster: Trilli has slowly been a stock-riser since he came to the state of Indiana from Arizona. He has always been in awkward spot as either a wing or a post but has always done a good job of embracing his size and that hybrid position. His skill looked much more fine-tuned this summer and thought his jumper was more consistent than what we had seen in the past. He was also easily one of the best rebounders that we saw this summer as well. Starting to get attention at the college level with Trinity Christian and Northern Michigan University extending offers.
