The event featured some highly-rated prospects from the West, South, Midwest and East regions of the United States. Below are the players who separated themselves as the top scorers on the weekend.
Andrew Fielder Andrew Fielder 6'9" | PF Southern California Academy | 2023 #74 Nation CA-S , Southern California Academy
The 6-foot-10 big man averaged 25 points per game while helping lead his Midwest squad to two victories, including a 120-99 decision over the South team in the championship game. Fielder flashed a diverse scoring package that saw him knock down catch-and-shoot three’s out of pick and pop and trail action. In addition to his perimeter skill-set, the class of 2023 forward scored in the paint with his back to the basket, off of dump-off passes from guards and Fielder was a beast on the offensive boards leading to countless put-back opportunities.
Dylan Harper Dylan Harper 6'6" | SG Don Bosco Prep | 2024 State #3 Nation NJ , Don Bosco Prep (NJ)
Harper’s first game at the Pangos All-American Festival wasn’t his best effort, as he scored 14 points, but you could see that when he got comfortable he was one of the smoothest wing/perimeter scorers in the gym. The 6-foot-5, class of 2024 guard out of New Jersey brought his A-game on Sunday as he scored a team-high 26 points, including four three-pointers. Harper is a super smooth lefty who excels in isolation because of his ability to create space from defenders off the dribble to get his shot off.
Garwey Dual Garwey Dual 6'5" | PG Carmel | 2023 #113 Nation CA-S , Southern California Academy
Dual was one of the top all-around performers of the event as his impact was felt on both sides of the floor, but in this piece we’ll highlight his scoring prowess. The 6-foot-4 wing scored 21 points in Saturday’s win over the East and followed that up with a 33-point effort in a championship win over the South. Dual, who is committed to Providence, was at his best when attacking the rim off the dribble in transition or in half-court situations where he used his quickness and length to get by defenders and elevate and extend to the basket for high percentage baskets.
Jalil Bethea Jalil Bethea 6'4" | SG Archbishop Wood | 2024 State #5 Nation PA , Archbishop Wood (PA)
Bethea got off to a rough start in the opening game as he went scoreless through the first 20 minutes of action, but the 6-foot-3 combo guard exploded in the second half, scoring 29 points while hitting on six three-pointers. Bethea is a long and wiry class of 2024 guard who has a smooth perimeter jumper with good lift. The rising junior added 16 more points on Sunday and finished with nine total three-point makes on the weekend.
Mercy Miller Mercy Miller 6'4" | SG Notre Dame | 2024 State #45 Nation CA-S , Sherman Oaks Notre Dame
The last two guys on this list are the ones you can file under “wired to score” and we’ll start with Miller. The 6-foot-4 guard put on a shooting display from the three-point and mid-range levels of the floor as he averaged 31.5 points per game, while connecting on 11 three’s over the course of his two games played. Miller has the ability to break defenders down off the dribble and get to his left where he is a consistent pull-up jump shooter from the elbow extended. In addition to his mid-range consistency, Miller has deep three-point range and a knack for hitting shots despite a defender closing out.
Tru Washington Tru Washington 6'3" | CG AZ Compass Prep | 2023 State #61 Nation AZ , AZ Compass Prep
As mentioned above, Washington has continued his scoring tear that began on the spring and summer circuits. The 6-foot-4 lefty has every scoring move imaginable in his arsenal – from catch-and-shoot three’s to off-the-bounce perimeter jumpers and he has a great hesitation game which allows him to get into the lane where he finishes craftily off the glass. Washington scored 26 points on Saturday and added 32 more on Sunday.
