A list of some of the top shooting guards from this past weekend at the Illinois Freshman Showcase!

[player_tooltip player_id='1552394' first='Andre' last='Tyler'] -- St. Rita

On the offensive end of the court, Tyler is a real problem. He is a true three-level scorer who can catch fire in a hurry. In the late moments of the first game of the day, Tyler drained a step-back three to force overtime. This was extremely impressive. On Saturday, Tyler proved himself as a top prospect in Illinois' freshman class. Moving forward, I expect big things from the shooting guard.

[player_tooltip player_id='1552413' first='Ayden' last='Willis'] -- Decatur MacArthur High School

It was a particular stretch of play from Willis that caught my eye on Saturday. First, the shooting guard converted on a difficult three. Then, he was able to slash into the paint and get a tough layup to fall. In a crucial moment of the game, Willis was able to take over and give his team some much-needed juice on the offensive end.

[player_tooltip player_id='1552432' first='Gabe' last='Piper'] -- York Community High School

Shooting is such a hot commodity in the high school game today. If a prospect can shoot, then he certainly has an opportunity to make a difference in any given game. On Saturday, Piper was able to show off his smooth shooting stroke. The 5-foot-11 shooting guard's ability to convert on outside shots will put a lot of pressure on opposing defenders.

[player_tooltip player_id='1552434' first='Quentin' last='Stephens III'] -- Saint Ignatius College Prep

When Stephens was able to get to the rim, I was very impressed with the shooting guard. Time and time again, Stephens was able to get to the rim and find creative ways to convert on difficult layups. I believe that Stephens does have some areas in his game that will require improvement, but for now, Stephens is showing tremendous potential.

[player_tooltip player_id='1552419' first='Ryan' last='Walsh'] -- Benet

Walsh was probably the best shooter in the gym on Saturday. The Benet prospect has tremendous shooting fundamentals. He has a very quick release and great form. I love how Walsh never stops moving on the offensive end of the court. The shooting guard is always moving and trying to get loose for an open shot.

[player_tooltip player_id='1552478' first='Jadin' last='Schilb'] -- Champaign Centennial

Schilb is a prospect that I would keep an eye out for in the future. The Champaign Centennial prospect has a ton of potential. I love how versatile Schilb is on both ends of the court. He can do so much for his squad. He scores well, plays great defense, and is overall a very solid teammate. Look out for Schilb -- he could develop into a real problem.
