Continue ReadingOn Monday evening we released our updated Prep Hoops Indiana Class of 2023 prospect rankings. We have now expanded to a Top 200 including an additional Watch List featuring 126 more prospects. The current senior class is one of the deepest we have had in the state in a long time. Now, we will begin to push out a ton of content diving further into our updated rankings. Positional breakdowns, regional rankings, stock-risers, and new names have been coming throughout the week. Here are six prospects who did the most to improve their stock and climb the Prep Hoops Indiana rankings.
Ankney just announced his commitment to Indiana Wesleyan earlier this week after a great summer playing with Indiana Ice 2023 on the Adidas Gold Gauntlet. The 6’3″ guard is a pure scorer with the ability to make tough shots off of the dribble. He will be a key component for an up-and-coming Center Grove squad that should be vastly improved this season. He shot up over 10 spots in the rankings from #47 to #35 overall.
There might not be a more underrated guard in the state than Almodovar. Here at Prep Hoops Indiana the 6’2″ guard gets plenty of attention, but I’m not sure he is as well known on a statewide scale. The super athletic left-hander can score at all three levels and play either spot in the backcourt. Look for him to have a big senior season at Noblesville. Almodovar jumped from #60 to #36 overall in our prospect rankings.
There aren’t many prospects who had a better summer than this Pike High School point guard. Woods might be smaller, but he is a truly dynamic playmaker with elite ball handling skills, great finishing ability, and a smooth jump shot. His strong spring and summer with EG10 2023 earned him a 30 spot jump in the Prep Hoops Indiana rankings to #37 overall. He will be one to keep an eye on this high school season.

Another point guard that really burst onto the scene this summer playing with George Hill All Indy 2023. Miller is a talented playmaker who can make any pass, finishes well at the end of his drives, and likes to push the pace in transition. He made a massive jump in the Prep Hoops Indiana prospect rankings from #78 to #38 overall. Look for Southport to be a tough out for teams in the Indianapolis area this season and Miller will be a big reason why.

This versatile 6’6″ forward played his way into a handful of NAIA offers this summer with Kyle Guy Elite Black 2023. Welch can stretch the floor out to three-point range, put the ball on the floor to attack closeouts, and has the size to finish inside. Absolutely capable of playing out on the perimeter as a “3” or stretch 4-man. He rose in the rankings over 30 spots to #43 overall in state.
