Continue ReadingOn Monday evening we released our updated Prep Hoops Indiana Class of 2023 prospect rankings. We have now expanded to a Top 200 including an additional Watch List featuring 126 more prospects. The current senior class is one of the deepest we have had in the state in a long time. Now, we will begin to push out a ton of content diving further into our updated rankings. Positional breakdowns, regional rankings, stock-risers, and new names will be coming throughout the rest of the week. Let’s start with highlighting the top point guards in the Class of 2023.
The top point guard in the state is Penn State commit Logan Imes Logan Imes 6'4" | PG Zionsville | 2023 State #202 Nation IN (Zionsville H.S. 2023) who checks in at #4 overall in the updated Prep Hoops Indiana rankings. The 6’4″ Imes will run the show for a very talented Zionsville team and will certainly be among the top candidates for the prestigious Mr. Basketball award. Another Mr. Basketball candidate is Markus Burton Markus Burton 5'11" | PG Penn | 2023 State #190 Nation IN (Penn H.S. 2023) who moved up to #9 in the state and is the second ranked point guard in the class. Burton has committed to Notre Dame and is coming off a junior season that saw him average 26.9 points per game. He will be one of the top scorers in the state once again.
Next in the list of point guards is Ashton Williamson Ashton Williamson 6'2" | PG Gary 21st Century | 2023 State #287 Nation IN (Gary 21st Century 2023). The 6’2″ dynamic playmaker is as talented as anyone in the state and a constant triple-double threat when he is on the floor. Rounding out the top five at the position group is Sheridan Sharp Sheridan Sharp 6'2" | PG Ben Davis | 2023 State IN (Ben Davis H.S. 2023) and Ahmere Carson Ahmere Carson 6'2" | PG Anderson | 2023 State IN (Anderson H.S. 2023). Sharp is an absolute winner and will run the show for the potential preseason Class 4A favorite this season. He is ranked #18 overall with a handful of low/mid-major offers. At #23 overall is the left-handed Carson who is one of the most talented pure scorers in the state. He isn’t your traditional point guard, but with how much the ball is in his hands there is nothing else to call him. At the end of the day, he is a bucket-getter and should have a massive senior season for Anderson.
