Here we take a look at some of the 2024’s who we thought played well at this event.
Cole Boake Cole Boake 6'4" | CG University | 2024 State CA-N 6’3 Guard of University HS, 3.8 GPA
Boake is a rising prospect in the NorCal 2024 Class. He plays at a high level most often showing a multitude of skills that can change the game to his teams favor. He understands the game an adjust accordingly. The high IQ guard can run a teams offense with his vision and passing skills up top when called to do so. He can move off ball and go into scoring mode, using his savviness and smarts to generate buckets in different ways, including knocking down the big shot.
Seth Dyer 6’4 SG of St. Bernards HS, 4.0 GPA
He’s a long arm wiry prospect with good activity on the court. His lengthy arms helps him be an active rebounder on both ends, to get put back points, and rebounds to push the break. He runs the court to be a target in transition, he’ll finish with lay-ups and rhythm 3’s. He spots up well in the corner for 3’s he can make.
Xavior Crawford 6’1 Guard Lincoln HS, Stockton. 3.0 GPA
He had a good all-around outing for a prospect we’re seeing for the first time. He has some tools to work with on the offensive side of the ball. He’s a good court runner in transition looking to finish at the run in different ways. He has a short jumper he looks to take, off the dribble or in the paint. and will shoot transition 3’s in rhythm if open. We’ll see more of him.
Leo Ricketts 5’10 CG, PG, of De La Salle HS, 3.6 GPA
He’s an aggressive guard on both ends of the court. He can run the offense, he makes good decisions, uses solid handles, and is a quality passer. He has good strength to handle contact on the drive into the paint, he has a floater, and a paint jumper. He gets aggressive on the wings in transition looking to hit open 3’s, short pull-up jumpers or taking it to the basket. He has good foot-speed to stay with ball handlers.
Isaac Johnson 6’4 SG/W of Pinole Valley HS, 3.0 GPA
Johnson is a long wiry prospect with a good frame and will probably grow a bit more. He could use some time in the weight room to get stronger and use his body more to get rebounds and handle the physical play of the game, nevertheless he has a good shooting stroke from behind the 3pt line. He does a good job of running the court to get in position for corners 3’s, and along the perimeter. He can get hot and knock down a few. We’ll keep an eye on him.
Quentin Thompson Quentin Thompson 6'5" | SF Lincoln | 2024 State CA-N 6’3 G/F of Lincoln HS, Stockton 3.0 GPA
A versatile prospect with an improving skill set, he has a good upside. He’s got good length, and movements to effect the game inside, and on the perimeter. He shown he can generate points in the paint by going up strong off two feet, and using his length, and touch around the rim to convert. He has a decent set of ball handling skills to operate effectively on the perimeter and in transition. He can score in different ways. He helps on the boards, and defends multiple positions.
AJ McCoy 6’0 Guard of Cornerstone Christian in Antioch. 3.0 GPA
An athletic guard with good movements on the court. He has a decent set of handles, and a nice crossover move he uses to go by defenders in the open court. He sports a pull-up jumper off the dribble that goes in. He has a paint jumper, and a floater to use after using his quickness to get by defenders and into the paint. He has hand quickness to generate steals, and foot speed to stay with and in front on defense.
Leo Muraoka 6’5 W/F of Rio Americano HS 3.4 GPA
A long body with good arm length. He moves well and gives good effort. He has some tools to work with. He’ll need to bulk up and play a bit more aggressive on both ends. He went for rebounds, did a good job of filling lanes in transition, he finished with a couple of dunks. His touch around the rim was good.
Isaiah Wong 5’8 Guard of Dublin HS 3.9 GPA
He’s a good ball handler and passer, kind of shifty with good quickness to keep defenders honest. He has a good 3pt shot he can make if left unattended, he made several. He was good at pushing, and passing in transition.
