The first week of August is almost over, meaning the start of school is coming soon. The rising junior class had a strong summer, especially the players who flew under the radar. Here are the under the radar 2024 prospects who could break out in 2022-23 season.

[player_tooltip player_id="1407094" first="Shane" last="Sheehan"], 6'6 PF Westfield

Sheehan had a big summer with the [program_tooltip program_id='2078594' first='Unity' last='Legends'], and it should carry over into the winter. The 6'6 forward runs the floor hard, creating open layups and dunks for himself in transition. Sheehan has a nice touch around the basket and is able to get position down low. He is tough to box out on both ends of the floor and holds his ground on the defensive end. Sheehan will be the go-to guy down low for the Blue Devils, which will help his stock in a big way.

[player_tooltip player_id="1216351" first="Francis" last="Denvir"], 5'8 PG Delaware Valley

Denvir had a strong summer with [program_tooltip program_id='2078593' first='United' last='NJ'] as he showed the ability to run the offense effectively. The 5'8 lead guard has a good handle, which he uses to get by his defender and finish around the basket. Denvir knows how to get his teammates involved in the half court and can knock down open jumpers from behind the arc. He moves well without the ball in his hands and gets deflections on the defensive end. Denvir will shoulder a larger responsibility on the offensive end and has the potential to breakout this season.

[player_tooltip player_id="1273934" first="John" last="Kelly"], 6'3 SF Watchung Hills

Kelly had a big summer with the Hoop Heaven Hawks Elite, which should translate into the 2022-23 season. The 6'3 wing has a smooth release on his jumper and can knock down triples in bunches. Kelly is more than just a shooter as he can also get to the rim and finish around the basket. He moves well without the ball in his hands and is an underrated passer. Kelly can score the ball in a variety of ways, which should help his stock in a big way.

[player_tooltip player_id="1154998" first="Jason" last="McKelvey"], 6'2 SG Toms River East

McKelvey had a solid summer with the Jersey Shore Predators as he does a little bit of everything. The 6'2 guard is a tough rebounder as he is unafraid of fighting against taller players for rebounds. McKelvey moves well without the ball in his hands and is a solid finisher around the basket. He has a nice release on his jumper and gets deflections on the defensive end. McKelvey is a glue guy that does whatever it takes to help his team win.

[player_tooltip player_id="1476266" first="Brave" last="Haugh"], 6'6 SF/PF Marlboro

Haugh made an impact for the [program_tooltip program_id='2078569' first='Jersey' last='Force'] this summer and should continue to do so this winter. The 6'6 forward plays with great energy on both ends of the floor as he rarely takes a play off once he's in the game. Haugh is a strong finisher around the basket and uses his frame to draw contact in the paint. He skies for rebounds on both ends of the floor and moves his feet well on the defensive end. Haugh will shoulder a larger responsibility in 2022-23 with the Mustangs, which could lead to a breakout junior campaign.
