The class of 2024 has a ton of guards and a few that have flown under the radar but deserve some more recognition.

[player_tooltip player_id="1463536" first="James" last="Weir"] - Palmer Ridge

[player_tooltip player_id="1463536" first="James" last="Weir"] is a gritty small guard, who uses great quickness to his advantage. On the defensive end, James shows good instinct on and off of the ball he uses quick hands to build up a few steals per game. With the ball in his hands, he has a nice set of quick shifty crossovers and can stop on a dime for mid-range shots. James does a great job running the fastbreak, making quick moves and decisions to get to the rim.

Ehud Tesafaye - Denver East

Ehud Tesafaye is a big guard with a smooth pull-up game off of the dribble. Ehud has solid height standing at 6’2, and a smooth handle on the ball that allows him to create space for his jumper. Near the rim, he is a crafty scorer who likes to use euro-steps to find the best angel to finish. Ehud shows potential to be a deadly three-level scorer with his crafty, patient style of play.

[player_tooltip player_id="1450638" first="Seth" last="Whitehead"] - Legend

[player_tooltip player_id="1450638" first="Seth" last="Whitehead"] is a combo-guard with great height and versatility on both ends of the floor. On the defensive end of the floor, Seth sometimes takes risks trying to jump passing lanes or wrap around steal but his length often allows him to get steals on those risky plays. From behind the three-point arc, he has a smooth jumper and does a good job in catch-and-shoot situations. Off of the rip, Seth is good at driving to the basket and finding the open man on cutters or kick-outs to shooters.

[player_tooltip player_id="1369792" first="Evan" last="Trujillo"] - Monarch

[player_tooltip player_id="1369792" first="Evan" last="Trujillo"] is one of the best set shooters in the state, who seems to be automatic when left open. Evan has very deep range and can shoot from deeper than most. He is not the quickest player but he catches players in the air with his pump-fakes, then he likes to go to his floater near the basket. Evan has shown to be a very good complimentary piece who can consistently knock down shots.

[player_tooltip player_id="1489382" first="Paul" last="Grier"] - Pine Creek

[player_tooltip player_id="1489382" first="Paul" last="Grier"] is a knockdown shooter who can score on both off of the catch and dribble. Paul moves very well off of the ball and can cut corners quickly to get open for jump shots. He catches the ball facing up and ready to shoot and has a quick trigger on his jumper. Paul forces defenders to close out hard and he can use quick fakes to get by defenders for mid-range shots or attack the rim. He has proven to be a very good mid-range scorer who uses good footwork to lose defenders on stepbacks.
