Class of 2024 is full of length and talent. Houston’s best were on display at OTR Best of Both Worlds Camp competing for ranking spots and exposure. Who stood out at in ’24?

Ja’varius Thompson 6’2 Aldine Nimitz High School

BY FAR the best point guard at the camp. Handle the ball well under pressure with change of pace bringing the ball up. He have the passing skills to go along with his vision. Guard that plays both sides of the ball.

[player_tooltip player_id="1217197" first="Chris" last="McDermott"] 6’8 Booker T. Washington

[player_tooltip player_id="1217197" first="Chris" last="McDermott"] wanted every rebound. Being known for dominating in the paint he seem to be working on scoring from the perimeter in isolation play bringing his man from the paint. Provided plenty of highlights coming out of nowhere for putback dunks.

[player_tooltip player_id="892166" first="Jaydon" last="Nunn"] 6’0 Gameprep

The quick shifty point guard displayed his quick first step and creating plays with his dribble. Can be explosive when attacking the rim. Plays with strong confidence in his game.

[player_tooltip player_id="1217196" first="Jae’Coby" last="Osborne"] 6’5 Ft. Bend Elkins High School

Osborne is displayed his ability to score around the rim. Plays both ends of the floor using his wingspan to make it harder. Crashes the board on both ends flying in for putbacks.

Braylon Scott 5’9 Langham Creek High School

Scott plays with a chip on his shoulder. Tough guard that penetrate the paint looking to make the right play. Unique vision that can pass with both hands. Strong finisher at the rim.

Khalil Elbatrawy 6’2 Dickinson High School

Don’t let his frame fool you Khalil can jump out the building. Elbatrawy was scoring in transition and hitting jumpshots. He likes to use the screen to get free for his shot; especially around the elbow with his one-dribble pull-up.

[player_tooltip player_id="1478393" first="Trent" last="Burns"] 7’0 P.S.A.T. Academy

Burns hears all teh talking about him not playing downlow, and trying to dunk anything down low. He worked inside and out knocking down catch and shoot three then going to post up. Defensively, he made it diffcult for his opponents to get easy shots.

[player_tooltip player_id="1220767" first="Zion" last="Pipkin"] 6’2 Westfield High School

Zion was being Zion at the camp, ut what impressed me the most was his mindset to not let up. His mental is beyond his years. He keeps his composure in any situation which you can see with his natural feel for the game.

Honorable mention:
