Grit Region Finals – Notable Performances Part 1

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The Prep Hoops Circuit has been a premier place to see terrific basketball talent at all levels. The Grit Region Finals fell right in line with that. There were excellent basketball players putting their skills on display for coaches, scouts, and fans of the game. Ward has been one of the best players and biggest stock risers on the circuit all season. He once again hit a groove at the Grit Region Finals with a 39 point game and a 36 point game. Ward averaged 28 points per game over the weekend. This past weekend he showed his value as a 2 way player. Offensively he was steady and smart, while defensively he showed some shut down abilities on the wing. He showed patience offensively and converted on his opportunities. I liked the way Bardic attacked from several spots on the floor including jumpers from the top and using the baseline off the bounce. His jumper looks really good and he doesn’t need much space to get it out off. He can shoot off the bounce and off the catch. Overshawn is really quick into the shooters pocket and smooth through it. This is just an example of the steady improvement of one of Michigan’s most promising post players. He averaged a double-double over the weekend with 4 game totals of 13 points per game and 10 rebounds per game. Risdon is no longer just a rim protector, as he’s adding to his offensive repertoire. He had 11 rebounds, 7 points, 5 assists and 5 steals. He followed that with a 10 point and 10 rebound double-double in the round of 8. He’s consistently been one of the best and most talented players in the gym throughout the circuit. His hustle and heart will win games, it’s that simple. At the Grit Region Finals, he as impressive as ever. Sniesak worked really hard off the ball to get his chances offensively. He did a great job recognizing spaces and finding soft spots in the defense. His shooting percentages over the weekend were staggering. He shot 65% from the field and 40% from behind the arc. He has in the gym range on his jumper and can get hot with it pretty often.
