They have tons of potential going forward and are just a glimpse of the talent coming into the high school level next season. Take a look and write these names down, these are five forwards who lead the way in the 2026 class.
Jack Sievers (2026) | 6’4 | SF | Archbishop Murphy | FOH
Sievers is a big kid who moves with intention. He’s got good athleticism and can handle the ball well enough to be a threat from all spots on the court. His physicality and burst going to the hoop are unique for a forward his size, and he is so smooth finishing at the rim. Sievers has that great work ethic you look for, fighting on the boards and showing great anticipation for missed shots. He’s got some explosiveness to him too and he seems like a kid who’s going to keep getting stronger, quicker, and more explosive.
Dylynn Groves (2026) | 6’3 | SF | Gonzaga Prep | Hooptown Elite
The first thing you notice with Groves is his big, strong frame. He’s a surprisingly good ballhandler and operates well on the wings, seeing over the defense to make timely passes. He puts in work on the boards and boxes out hard when the shots go up. The main thing that sticks after watching Groves is his size, work ethic, and ability to set a hard pick then spot up and nail the three. He’s got versatility but no matter where he finds himself on the court he plays hard and big.
Adrik Jenkin (2026) | 6’2 | SF | Colfax | Hooptown Elite
Jenkin has a long reach and broad shoulders and looks like he has a lot more growing to do. The wiry forward splashed in four threes in his game I watched at Las Vegas Live. Each shot was nothing but net and Jenkin hit a couple from real deep. So, he has the range but he’s also able to get to the hoop and use that length to slice through defenders to the cup. He has a lot of potential to grow his game and use that length on both ends of the floor.
Yeabsera Aklog (2026) | 6’10 | PF | Eastside Catholic | Seattle Rotary
It is hard to miss this young gun. Aklog possesses rare size for any age, and when you see him go to work on the court it is clear the foundation is there for major growth over his high school career. Aklog is already incredibly comfortable with his size, he’s strong, he can move really well, and he’s physically way ahead of his age. Even the growth in his game just through the spring and summer has been incredible to see. Right now, he is a force inside and plays with power. He is good with the ball and shows the potential in the future to work from the wings as well. His handle is exceptional for his size and he also boasts a smooth stroke that he’s extended out to three-point range. It seems the sky is the limit for Aklog and he’s one of the few incoming freshmen that could have an immediate impact.
Colton Adams (2026) | 6’1 | SF | Kings | Hooptown Elite
Adams is a lean slasher that excels at getting to the rim. For a righty, he’s supremely good at going left and he’s able to get inside frequently with his length and quick first step. He has a nice handle that sets up his drives and helps him win one-on-one. Adams plays like a guard on offense, but his length and abilities defensively allow him to slide over to the forward spot and guard taller players. He’s got good athleticism that plays on both ends of the floor and could see some minutes for Kings next season.
