They have shown the promise of being able to step up and contribute to their high school teams right away, whether that means running the offense, bringing it on defense, or carving out a new role and owning those minutes. These are a few names who should pop up on the scene this coming season.
Jordan Agosto Jordan Agosto 5'10" | PG Renton | 2025 State WA 6’0 | PG | Nathan Hale | Seattle Rotary
Agosto got a lot of play last season for Nathan Hale and he plays like a kid who’s gotten that valuable experience. His whole approach is that of someone who sees the entire game. He looks for opportunities to push in transition, makes quick decisions, and doesn’t make many turnovers. He can get to the hoop where he finishes himself or dishes to teammates, and is super effective using head and ball fakes. He could be a fast riser in the 2025 class and the Metro League next season.
Mason St Louis 6’2 | SG | Kentwood | Seattle Rotary
The lefty guard brings it defensively, giving full effort and showing the quickness needed to be an above average defender. He doesn’t often get beat thanks to his hard work rate and side to side agility. St Louis approaches the game with great energy and he looks like he could be a good playmaker on offense, pairing that agility with a tight handle. He’s shown confidence in shooting the long ball too and if he can bring all these pieces together, will be able to contribute good minutes in a hurry.
Corey Tita Corey Tita 6'3" | SG Kentwood | 2025 State WA 6’3 | SG | Kentwood | Seattle Rotary
This guy plays strong and solid with the ball. He loves to attack the rim and will often seek out contact on his way, looking to draw fouls or create space by leaning into defenders. Tita uses the jump stop to perfection, keeping on balance and securing that good base as he fakes out overly aggressive defenders en route to the bucket. He’s a smart player that stays in control while playing a physical game and should he develop a consistent outside shot, will really open up lanes to the hoop.
Noah Schow 6’3 | SG | Tenino | Roots Academy
Schow is strong and fluid going to the hoop and really makes his impact inside the paint. He’s a huslter and fights for extra chances on the offensive boards or loose balls at the end of a possession. Schow’s also got good length to add as a defender and is capable of chasing down the break to send a layup back off the glass. He gets to the line with his aggressive play but sometimes can be overly aggressive and a little out of control. That fighting mentality causes problems on both sides of the ball and if he can tighten up his game a bit, he’ll be a real problem in the future.
Kingston McLaughlin 6’5 | SF | Bothell | Team Dean
Here is a kid with length you can’t replace. He is a big contributor sealing defensive possessions and getting the ball out quick to start the break. McLaughlin moves very well for how tall and long he is and can surprise offensive players with how quick and far he can closeout. Offensively, he has the beginnings of some great ball skills, showing touch around the rim, a decent jumper, and most impressively, a handle that can play in open court and on the block. He is an intruiging prospect that probably has a little ways to go and looks like he’ll keep on growing, but could have a high ceiling.
Drew Metke 6’3 | SF | Capital | Roots Academy
Metke has real length for his frame and can line up at forward or guard, adding versatility to any lineup. He’s got good feel for making the right play, handles and passes the ball well, and looks comfortable on the attack. He can hit from outside but looks best going towards the bucket where he can use that smoothness and length to evade defenders and create looks. Metke can really cause problems on defense too, specifically defending situations like the pick and roll. He’s able to spread those wings and mask any passing lanes to the roller while also being able to make up ground on the ball handler in case of a shot.
Trey Mckinney 6’6 | SF | Walla Walla | Seattle Rotary
Mckinney is real long and plays with an aggressive mindset. He knows his size and he won’t back down from smaller competition, even if there’s more than one of them. He plays through contact against smaller defenders and uses his length to get the shot up after muscling through tight defense. He can get knocked off balance by stronger players but he’ll get stronger as his body matures, and his strength will catch up with his length. The part of his game that glows a little brighter into the future is his ability off the dribble. He shows a comfortability in space that with practice, could be a turning point in his game. The big guy can also knock down the freebies at the line which you hope leads to him drawing more and more fouls.
