Tim Franks Tim Franks 6'5" | SG Homestead | 2024 State WI — SG — Chapman Basketball Academy — 16U
Franks is a pure scorer who has really impressed this spring and summer. The shooting guard has one of the best three-point strokes in the entire state of Wisconsin. He also has made significant strides as a slasher and finisher around the rim. Franks has been one of my favorite prospects to watch this AAU season, and even though his team didn’t get the Elite Eight victory, I thought that Franks was still terrific.
Luke Dobbs Luke Dobbs 6'0" | PG St. Thomas Academy | 2024 State MN — PG — Minnesota Select — 16U
Dobbs is so much fun to watch. The point guard is a flashy passer who does a great job of using his court vision to locate open teammates. I love how unselfish the PG is. In Minnesota Select’s big win over Chapman Basketball Academy, Dobbs was outstanding. He did such a great job of passing up his own shot for an even better shot.
Nolan Minessale Nolan Minessale 6'5" | SF Marquette | 2024 State WI — SF — Champman Basketball Academy — 16U
Minessale is a really incredible prospect. Whenever his team needs a big play, the small forward almost always answers. Minessale is a dangerous weapon in transition thanks to his long frame and athleticism. He does a great job of finishing in the paint despite contact. With multiple college coaches in attendance this weekend, there is no doubt in my mind that Minessale has caught the eye of spectators.
Kayden Wells Kayden Wells 6'6" | PF Minnetonka | 2024 State MN — PF — Minnesota Select — 16U
Wells is an impressive two-way prospect who is one of the major reasons why Minnesota Select has had such a successful AAU season. The 6-foot-5 power forward is strong and very physical. He does a great job of using his strength to get position in the paint. On Sunday, he made some great plays around the hoop.
Isaac Nyakundi — PF — Starks Elite — 17U
I knew Nyakundi was a really good player, but I didn’t know he was that good. In a big-time win over a stacked Minnesota Select squad, the power forward dominated. He was able to drain seven (!) threes and scored 29 points. Nyakundi is a prototypical stretch four who already holds a couple of D1 offers. If he keeps improving, it is likely that several more will be coming his way.
Max Woods Max Woods 5'11" | PG Chanhassen | 2024 State MN — PG — Minnesota Fury — 16U
Helping lead his team to a 16U championship, Woods was the MVP of the day. The point guard did everything for his Minnesota Fury squad. Woods is a dynamic prospect who uses his speed to blow by opposing defenders of the offensive end. In the championship game, Woods was able to tally 23 points and five assists, including the go-ahead bucket. Woods was tremendous on Sunday, and he has been a joy to watch this summer.
