Hunter Fleming, Prodigy, HT 6’8, PF, Class 2023
Hunter had an impressive showing at the Tournament. The Prodigy team won the championship, and had a bunch of standout players. Hunter was very aggressive attacking the basket in the game I saw. He was able to finish through contact and convert a few and 1’s. He was able to draw a good amount of fouls. It’s tough to stop a 6’8, 220 player driving in the lane. He is built like a linebacker. Hunter has the strength to body people in the paint, on both ends of the floor. He played very physical and tough the whole game. He scored in the post, and even showed his ability to shoot from the outside. Hunter was aggressive on the boards, and did a nice job making the outlet pass off the rebound to a guard. Hunter will attend Northfield Mount Hermon in the fall.
Malachi Moore, Empire, Class 2024, HT 6’4, Position CG
I was impressed with what I saw from Malachi. He is a guard with good size for the Position. Malachi made some tough finishes at the rim in the tournament, and also was good on the fast break. He was able to finish in transition, and was quick getting up the floor. He is very athletic, and has a good crossover. He showed his three point shooting ability, and also his ability to shoot from mid range. He was able to play at multiple speeds.
Ian Murray, Prodigy, Class 2023, HT 6’3, Position CG
Ian helped the Prodigy team win the tournament championships. He is a combo guard who is strong with the ball. He can score in multiple ways and showed that this tournament. He score at the rim with a variety of finishing moves, and he can also shoot. I like on defense how he was able to beat the ball handler to the spot, and cut of the angles.
Najimi George, DTX, HT 6’6, Position CG, Class 2024
Najimi showed why people say he is a scholarship player. He has great explosiveness getting to the basket, and is very quick off the dribble. He has very good length, and is super athletic. When going downhill, he is tough to stop. He showed that he can shoot the three, and shoot from mid range as well. He can score at all three levels. You can see the potential and upside in his game. He has improved his decision making, and his overall Basketball IQ. His combination of skills, quickness, and size make him a high wanted prospect.
Christian Mcclease, New Haven Heat, Class 2023, HT 6’4, Position CG
Christian showed he has the skills to play at the division 1 level. He is the two time SCC League MVP. He had a standout performance at the Boston Hoopfest. This was the first time I saw him play live, and I really liked what I saw. He is a very good two way player. He is a dominate scorer, but watching him play, he works just as hard on the defensive side of the ball. He looked well conditioned, as never looked tired all game long. He scored in multiple ways, and I could that he has the ability to take over a game. His game should translate well to the college level.
