Here’s a look at 7 guys we already know about in VA and look forward to watching play more.
Latrell Almond | 6’8” PF | John Marshall
Almond is a special talent at his age and already holds a number of division one offers from high major programs after making a splash playing for John Marshall at DC Live. The 6’8” power forward already has a strong and powerful frame and is a big time athlete who can play above the rim, he can step out where he can knock down shots and he’s a walking double-double with his high motor and ability to rebound on both ends of the floor. He still has so much room to develop but he’s already on the radar as one of the top players in the country in the 2026 class.
Jordan Smith | 6’2” CG | Paul VI
Much like Almond, Smith already holds high major offers and when we watched him playing with PVI in DMV Live he had no problem fitting in and being productive with possibly the deepest lineup of any team in the state at just 14 years old. At 6’2” he’s already a big time athlete who can play above the rim and is likely still growing, he can play either guard position as he can create shots for himself and others off the bounce and he can catch and shoot from deep and he is a high motor defender who brings it on that side of the ball too. PVI always has a special freshman and when you ask people in the DMV they think Smith has the potential to be the best that Glen Farello has landed in years (and he’s had multiple NBA players).
Adam Oumiddoch | 6’3” CG | Bishop O’Connell
Oumiddoch wasted no time making a splash in the DMV at DMV Live as he was one of the top scorers regardless of class in session one and he showed absolutely no fear when he was on the floor. At 6’3” he already has good size and is likely still growing, he has good strength and uses his body to keep older defenders at bay and is a fantastic scorer in traffic and he is a relentless attacking mindset as a scorer that comes at you time and time again. He still has room to improve with his jumper and ball handling but he’s already impressive in his ability to score it in different ways.
Jasiah Cannady | 5’10” PG | Bishop O’Connell
Cannady is a very impressive young prospect who already is gaining national attention with his play on the MADE Circuit, and the way he moves and plays is well beyond his age as a young point guard. He’s quick and has great burst off the bounce with the ball in his hands, he can step out and knock down shots well beyond the college line efficiently already and he has great end-to-end speed as well. As he continues to grow and develop he’s projected to be one of the top prospects in the WCAC and all of the DMV moving forward.
Silas Devonish | 5’9” PG | Bishop Ireton
Devonish wasted absolutely no time making a name for himself as one of the top freshman in the WCAC as he came out with a big time performance at both DMV Live sessions, and the way he played when Jamie Kaiser went down in session 2 bolds well for them moving forward with him transferring to IMG. The 5’9” lead guard is fearless as he went at older and very talented competition with no doubt in his mind he could play with them, and he showed he can fill it up in bunches despite his small stature. He has deep range and a quick release off the catch and off the bounce, he is quick and has wiggle to get in the lane and he brings it defensively too.
Khaliq Carson | 5’7” PG | Bishop Ireton
Carson may be the smallest guy on the floor every time he steps on it and he may not put up big scoring numbers, but he’ll be able to make an immediate impact at Ireton with his tenacious defense and his playmaking ability with the ball in his hands. He plays with a ton of heart as he will pick up ball handlers and get under them and make them uncomfortable, he’ll shoot passing lanes and pick pockets and fight for loose balls and he brings intensity and energy when he’s on the floor. He’s a good ball handler and passer and can pick his spots and score it as well.
Styles Clemmons | 6’1” PG | Princess Anne
Clemmons is the best rising freshman that I know of in the 757, and he’ll be heading into a situation at Princess Anne that will put him in a position to be a big time impact right away. The 6’1” guard is super shifty off the bounce with a quick first step and the ability to change speeds and directions easily, he knows how to create space and can make shots from all three levels and the array of difficulty on some of the shots he hits would be difficult for even college players to be able to make. He’ll likely have some ups and downs early as he’ll take on a lot of the ball handling responsibilities but the talent he possesses makes him a very intriguing guy to watch over the next few years.
