June 16-19 I attended the Section-7 tournament at the State Farm Stadium in Glendale, AZ.

I didn’t watch every Arizona team from the state, but I saw a good number of standouts.

Here are 56 players that caught my eye. We have seven reports with Small School Gems, Newcomers, Sleepers and the 2023-2026 standouts.

We move over to the Newcomers:

[player_tooltip player_id="1490239" first="Daylen" last="Sharper"] Brophy Prep

A bigger incoming freshman PG who just moved in from out of state actually started for the Broncos. He handles the ball surprisingly well versus pressure and uses his left hand impressively. He has a nice pull-up from mid-range and is a good rebounder for a guard. He made good decisions with the ball and can thread it in off the pick and roll.

[player_tooltip player_id="1490240" first="Colton" last="Watson"] Sandra Day O’Connor

A long and lean wing with incredible size. He moves fluidly around the court and will defend multiple positions. He comes in off the bench and brings some energy. He can get downhill and looks to be a future piece to the puzzle for the Eagles.

[player_tooltip player_id="1491235" first="Tamar" last="Johnson"] Carl Hayden (Pictured)

An active scoring point guard with a motor. My first viewing of him and he plays hard. He is a quick on-ball defender who can get into the lane to score or facilitate. He can also hit the catch three and brings speed to the team.

[player_tooltip player_id="1306002" first="Nick" last="Sanford"] Brophy Prep

A known shooter who really knows how to play. He shoots it easily from the three point line and consistently moves without the ball. He rarely will take a bad shot and he passes the ball smartly to his teammates. He has a nice runner and brings a scoring punch.

[player_tooltip player_id="1491231" first="Sabih" last="Almasri"] Central

A scoring guard is the most skilled player for the Bobcats. He is a gunner from the arc. The sniper likes it best off the catch but he can create his own offense. He is primarily looking to shoot it from the perimeter but can get to the basket.

[player_tooltip player_id="1491233" first="Will" last="Feagles"] Notre Dame Prep

A young looking scoring guard is one of the teams gunners. He has a pretty shooting stroke to the three point line and smartly moves without the ball and will relocate to an open spot. He will take pressure off of their big 3 of Batson Jr, Peterson and Quinet.

[player_tooltip player_id="1491232" first="Dru" last="Carter"] Carl Hayden

He may be only 5’10 but it is his length, speed and burst that makes his game go. He is a top end on-ball defender with his length and quickness and he uses his tight handle to get passed his defenders into the paint. He uses either hand and can shoot it from the perimeter.

[player_tooltip player_id="1491243" first="Donquel" last="Yancey"] Centennial

An undersized fast ball handler who can shoot. He’s improved his game every year and he will take pressure off of Emery Y. and Gage G. He is making shots more consistently and he will always be a pest on the ball defensively with good lateral quickness. He is more scorer then passer but he can make some plays as well.

[player_tooltip player_id="1491234" first="Gage" last="Lindsay"] Red Mountain

A thicker power forward is the face of the younger Mountain Lions. He is tough, strong and skilled. He rebounds at a good clip and is an inside and out scorer. He can shoot the three plus use his strength to score it inside.
