Elite company and Chet is now playing at a high level for the Minnesota Chill. What’s next for Chet? We talked to him today about Chill, Lightning, recruiting, and more.
What should colleges know about Chet? We gave him the opportunity to let them know!
“As a student athlete I want college coaches to know I take my grades serious and am on and off the floor a hard worker. I carry a 3.6 grade point average and want to major in finance or business management/marketing and minor in economics.
“On the court coaches should know nobody wants it as bad as I do and I bring 110 percent effort every time I step on the floor and pride myself on doing the things nobody else wants to do. I believe if someone thinks there better then me, they have to come show me.”
Kloss is also the type of talent that is putting in the work when the cameras aren’t in the building, when the coaches are at home, and when crowds are busy with their lives. He will be putting in work all summer.
“This summer I am working on several different areas to improve my skills and elevate my game,” Kloss said. “I am working on building my ball handling as well as volume shooting from all three levels to become a consistent threat all over the floor. I also am improving my quickness and explosiveness attacking to the rim. As well as these skills I am adding to my inside game and working to be a dominant force both offensively and defensively.”
When he’s not working on his own, Chet is working with the Minnesota Chill. The Chill program continues to grow impressively and Chet is one of the faces of the program.
“My spring 17U season has been a successful one as a team and I’ve had a lot of fun. I have continued to work hard outside of practices on my own and making strides in my game. I have gained ten pounds of muscle since the end of high school season through twp months of hard lifting which has helped my inside game greatly as well as attacking the rim from the perimeter. I also have gained more confidence and become more comfortable in open court and creating off the dribble.”
Colleges have taken notice. A nice group of schools is in contact with Kloss.
“I currently hold an offer from University of Sioux Falls. I’ve been in contact with a number of D2s including Minnesota-Duluth, Minnesota State-Mankato, U of Mary, Minnesota State-Moorhead, Concordia-St. Paul, and St. Leo,” Chet said. “I’ve recently gained D1 interest from North Dakota and South Dakota and will be attending elite camps for all schools above. I have taken college visits to Sioux Falls and Mankato so far. And will be touring Mary and Duluth when I attend camp.”
Then there is Eastview High School. The program with unlimited talent that takes guys from JV and turns them into scholarship prospects. Next winter Chet, Dylan Omweno Dylan Omweno 6'0" | PG Eastview | 2023 State MN , Mario Adams Mario Adams 6'5" | SF Eastview | 2023 State MN , Myles Adams Myles Adams 6'5" | SF Eastview | 2023 State MN , Ruhan Jordan Ruhan Jordan 6'1" | PG Eastview | 2023 State MN , and Jonathan Mekkonen are all set for a big year. And they are coming off an excellent year.
“I feel my junior season at Eastview was a positive growth for me. We were successful as a team making it to the state semis. As a captain I’ve gained a lot of experience in seeing the floor and overall having better court awareness and offensive confidence. As I continue to get better I look to help take my team back to state by leading on both ends of the floor.”
