New Williamson County Additions (2024)
With the onset of Class of 2024 rankings, plenty of hoopers debuted. Several enjoyed their continued presence. Peruse this piece exclusively featuring players from Williamson County.
As the growth of middle Tennessee continued through the last decade, the high-end teams remain, though they are now joined by greater depth across Williamson County. Brentwood Academy is as consistently dominant as ever. Schools like Ravenwood, Independence, Fairview, and Centennial are routinely competitive now it seems. Of course, Brentwood and Franklin will always be formidable and occasionally state tournament participants.
If you are looking to take a shortcut to finding the top talent in Williamson County, then scour the rosters of two local AAU programs: Tennessee Tigers , STARS-Nashville.
Newcomers
Evan Gainer Evan Gainer 5'9" | PG Ravenwood | 2024 State TN – Ravenwood
Davis Long Davis Long 6'0" | PG Franklin | 2024 State TN – Franklin / STARS Nashville-Bonds
Davis is serviceable at either guard spot right now. Ideally, he will be a small college lead guard.
Davis is completely destructive to defenses when he gets to the free throw line region of the halfcourt. His court vision is elite and, when playing with shooters, he expertly picks players to kick to that will make opponents pay. A keen understanding of spacing, angles, pass speed.
Good instincts, but lacks the explosive speed often inherent in point guards. Does not really have a weakness with any basketball skill. He is also a starter on the soccer team for Franklin High.
Great weekend with @StarsNash_MBB ! We were able to bring home the black bracket championship. Here are some highlights from the weekend- @hoopseen @bbonds23 @wcsFHSHoops @Hudl https://t.co/QwXjjSa7C8 #hudl

Bradley Stewart Bradley Stewart 6'2" | PG Independence | 2024 State TN – Summit
Certainly a hidden gem. “Lefty,” said AAU Coach Jeff Laidig. “Really, good scorer. He was the leading scorer at Summit last year.”
Bradley has some strength certainly, though he needs to continue developing his physical toughness in the lane. So much of his future success will come during and after clattering into bigger bodies.
Houston Hicks Houston Hicks 6'8" | PF Independence | 2024 State TN – Independence / Team Mookie
Houston’s hands need to become stronger, so that he can secure rebounds better. For the rest of his life guards will be whacking and smacking at his hands and the ball when he pulls it in. Facing Hoop Dreams (KY) mid-May he fumbled a rebound he earned as a result of an insecure gripping. Good timing and instincts as a shot-blocker. Hicks is wonderful at challenging shots without fouling. He does not offer the body or swat down with his arms unless he has space to challenge. Obviously, the long arms help him thrive as a defender within 8′ of the basket. Defending the perimeter is not a strength currently.

Rocco Lamuno – Ravenwood
The younger brother of Andrew Lamuno is probably a good basketball player, but he simply has not proven it at the varsity level just yet. Minutes definitely open up for him and the underclassmen after that wonderful ’22 RHS class graduated.
