The Airline team camp was the place to be on Tuesday as northeast and northwest Louisiana came to the home of the Vikings and participated in a full day of basketball. Delhi, Wossman, and West Monroe joined the likes of Captain Shreve, Bossier, and Parkway to have a day of spirited contest. In this team camp review, we will highlight the day of play in Bossier City by looking at the names and players who played well on the day.

Antron Mason II Antron Mason II Antron Mason II 6'1" | CG/PG Bastrop | 2025 State LA (Wossman | 2025 | 6’0")

The Wossman point lit up all opposing guards at Airline on Tuesday.  He was very good at shooting from behind the arc and helped cause a lot of turnovers in trapping situations.  Mason had some trouble splitting the double team on some sets but he made up for it in transition hitting teammates in stride on the fast break.  His guard play was at a high level on Tuesday and showed why he is one of the top guards in his class.

Tahj Roots Tahj Roots 5'11" | PG Bossier | 2023 State LA (Bossier | 2023 | 5’10")

One of the best defenders in the Boot showed glimpses why he is just that on Tuesday.  One sequence against West Monroe, he blocked the shot of the guard, gathered it in bounds, and pushed to the hoop for a layup.  Roots may not have his best shooting day from the floor.  However, plays like this made a difference for his team and helped them go 2-1 on the day.

Ederick Coleman (Pineville | 2023 | 6’1")

Coleman had his fingerprints all over the wins that Pineville had on Tuesday in Bossier.  He sealed the game against Airline scoring the last seven points via a free throw (2 for 1), a two-handed flush on the break, and a three to close it out.  Against Parkway, he was part of a guard trio that forced turnovers and turned them into buckets in transition.  Coleman displayed the ability to score on three levels and is a reason the upcoming season is looking bright for Pineville.

Kamron Coleman Kamron Coleman Kamron Coleman 6'8" | PF Wossman | 2023 State LA (Wossman | 2023 | 6’8")

The 6’8" forward had his own block party on Tuesday.  In all three Wildcat wins, Coleman either deterred shots from being attempted or blocked shots controlling the paint.  Coleman also showed off his offensive rebounding skills by grabbing rebounds in traffic and finishing layups creating and-1 opportunities.  He also caught a couple of lobs from his guards for dunk finishes.  Coleman has seen his effort and play improve and was a key part of the Wildcats going 3-0 at Airline.

Zalean Wright (Delhi | 2023 | 5’9")

Wright may have been the toughest player in the gym on Tuesday.  He is a blur in the open court and can get downhill to the cup very quickly.  However, he ability to cause tie-ups and rebound for his size was marveling.  Wright tried to block out Kamron Coleman Kamron Coleman Kamron Coleman 6'8" | PF Wossman | 2023 State LA in one sequence in their loss to Wossman.  In their narrow loss to Bossier, he made the key steal that allowed them to have a last second shot for a victory.  His willingness to sacrifice his body is a reason why Delhi was a tough opponent on Tuesday.

Eric Washington Eric Washington 6'2" | CG Delhi | 2023 State LA (Delhi | 2023 | 6’3")

Washington is as acrobatic as they come and a terror in the open floor for the Delhi Bears.  He spent his day attacking the rim or pushing the ball very hard in transition.  Washington had his block attempts thwarted by fouls at the rim in each game.  He also made several and-1 attempts pressing the point of attack and using English to put the ball on the glass and through.  There was a reason Washington was named all-state and all-district in Class 1A and it was because of plays like those on Tuesday at Airline.
