Keondre DeShields Keondre DeShields 6'3" | CG Laurel Highlands | 2023 State PA | 6’3” | G | Laurel Highlands
Rodney Gallagher Rodney Gallagher 6'0" | CG Laurel Highlands | 2023 State #176 Nation PA gets all the love but DeShields does a lot of the unsung work for LH. He, like Gallagher is a freakishly athletic guard who is a tough defender and a powerful rebounder. Good ballhandler who can square up from deep and cause problems. He’s got football and basketball options on the table.
Shea Champine Shea Champine 6'0" | CG Bishop Canevin | 2023 State PA | 6’0” | G | Bishop Canevin
The Crusaders went about 15 deep last year so players like Champine saw time but the starting five were the megastars of the run to the state title. With players like Jaden Gales and Kai Spears moving on, it will fall on the players coming back to elevate their game to the next level to keep the program churning under new coach Tim McConnell, who came over after a legendary run at Chartiers Valley. Athletic guard who runs the floor well and can finish through contact at the rim. He’ll be asked to fill a role for one of the graduating seniors this winter.
Madden Clement Madden Clement 5'10" | PG Butler | 2023 State PA | 5’10” | G | Butler
Clement played any role asked in the backcourt over this past season at Butler and uses his high basketball IQ to act like another coach on the floor. He’ll have to expand his leadership even further with the graduation of Duquesne bound Devin Carney. He’s also an accomplish pitcher for the Butler high baseball team and will have opportunities at the next level.
Sawyer Butler Sawyer Butler 5'11" | PG Beaver | 2023 State PA | 6’0” | G | Beaver
Butler is a solid lead guard who can shoot it from deep. He moves well off the ball and is a good distributor. He can finish at the rim with either hand and can play through contact. He’s at his best when he can catch and shoot. Quick release on his shot. His shooting ability is a specialty that coaches may want to follow in his senior year.
