<p>Prep Hoops Missouri takes a look at a dozen of the top point/combo guards from different classes we saw at last weekend’s Lindenwood University Team Camp in St. Charles. The event was presented by Gerdeman Camps.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <h4>2023</h4> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><a href="https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/ph/uploads/2021/06/12C429A8-9175-49D8-88D9-F1C3EF520A5B.jpeg"><img class="alignnone size-medium wp-image-1224854" src="https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/ph/uploads/2021/06/12C429A8-9175-49D8-88D9-F1C3EF520A5B-300x225.jpeg" alt="" width="300" height="225" /></a></p> <p>BJ Ward (Chaminade): The 6’0" point guard is an accomplished floor leader who can run a team, get buckets when they are needed while playing excellent defense. He sets the tempo for the rest of the team. He also picked up an offer from Lindenwood University after the camp.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><a href="https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/ph/uploads/2022/06/CDA07380-89C6-40C5-8104-6AC6ED8AC9D6.jpeg"><img class="alignnone size-medium wp-image-1486405" src="https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/ph/uploads/2022/06/CDA07380-89C6-40C5-8104-6AC6ED8AC9D6-300x225.jpeg" alt="" width="300" height="225" /></a></p> <p>[player_tooltip player_id="1070091" first="Jorden" last="Williams"] (Whitfield): The 6’0" lefty point guard is a prime offensive talent with excellent playmaking skills to make his teammates better. I enjoy watching him shoot the basketball because of his range and how effortless he looks when he lets the ball fly. He also has a nice float game in the lane where he can score with the opposite hand.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><br /> <a href="https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/ph/uploads/2022/06/6FA568C3-822F-4E5F-B338-E6DAAF75E660.jpeg"><img class="alignnone size-medium wp-image-1486407" src="https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/ph/uploads/2022/06/6FA568C3-822F-4E5F-B338-E6DAAF75E660-300x225.jpeg" alt="" width="300" height="225" /></a></p> <p>Aaron Walker Jr. (SLUH): The 5’9" point guard was one of the quickest players that I watched during the weekend. He utilizes his speed very well in the open court and he can also stop and pop with the pull up jumper. He can distribute the ball well and he’ll look to score even more as a senior.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><a href="https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/ph/uploads/2022/05/75CB8E76-BCCB-49B0-B28F-334DE5A82163.jpeg"><img class="alignnone size-medium wp-image-1448872" src="https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/ph/uploads/2022/05/75CB8E76-BCCB-49B0-B28F-334DE5A82163-300x225.jpeg" alt="" width="300" height="225" /></a></p> <p>[player_tooltip player_id="1440457" first="Charles" last="Nelson"] (Miller Career Academy): The talented 6’0 guard led the Phoenix to a 5-0 record over the weekend. He’s a scoring point guard with good quickness and he once again displayed his ability to get buckets at all three levels.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><a href="https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/ph/uploads/2022/06/64D80651-A5E3-46C4-960B-FF44297AF452.jpeg"><img class="alignnone size-medium wp-image-1486743" src="https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/ph/uploads/2022/06/64D80651-A5E3-46C4-960B-FF44297AF452-300x225.jpeg" alt="" width="300" height="225" /></a><br /> [player_tooltip player_id="1070113" first="Jack" last="Steinbach"] (Ladue): The 6’0 point guard has firm control of the Rams’ offense as a playmaker and scoring threat. He stays low on the dribble to create and get into the lane for short jumpers, runners and easy passes to open teammates. He works just has hard off the ball with his movement.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><a href="https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/ph/uploads/2022/06/40E0D137-7085-4459-B447-1D663EFCC944.jpeg"><img class="alignnone size-medium wp-image-1486409" src="https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/ph/uploads/2022/06/40E0D137-7085-4459-B447-1D663EFCC944-300x225.jpeg" alt="" width="300" height="225" /></a></p> <p>[player_tooltip player_id="1070111" first="Barry" last="Thomas"] (St. Charles West): The 6’1" combo guard is an impressive offensive player who can get buckets in a variety of ways. He can freeze defenders with a smooth hesi move and he he can change directions with spin moves and crossovers to create his own shot. He will also hit the 3-pointer to keep defenses honest.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><a href="https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/ph/uploads/2022/06/F15CBB06-53D2-4781-ADAB-6130240CE384.jpeg"><img class="alignnone size-medium wp-image-1471068" src="https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/ph/uploads/2022/06/F15CBB06-53D2-4781-ADAB-6130240CE384-300x225.jpeg" alt="" width="300" height="225" /></a></p> <p>[player_tooltip player_id="1178475" first="Trevor" last="North"] (St. Dominic): A solid point guard who plays the game with a lot of pace as he looks to push the ball. He’s a solid perimeter shooter who can also penetrate in the lane as a playmaker.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <h4>2024</h4> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><a href="https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/ph/uploads/2022/05/8DFD011A-540C-45BF-8636-F1A0DC353970.jpeg"><img class="alignnone size-medium wp-image-1467850" src="https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/ph/uploads/2022/05/8DFD011A-540C-45BF-8636-F1A0DC353970-300x225.jpeg" alt="" width="300" height="225" /></a></p> <p>[player_tooltip player_id="1268029" first="Colin" last="DeBold"] (Seckman): A 6’4" point guard who has good height and excellent court vision. Whether it is in the transition game or in the half court offense, he is always finding teammates with eyeballs that seem to be all around his head. He also has good 3-point shooting range that extends beyond the line.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <h4>2025</h4> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><a href="https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/ph/uploads/2022/04/FEB84D08-5DF6-44AF-AF67-B4A1899B14F8.jpeg"><img class="alignnone size-medium wp-image-1437438" src="https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/ph/uploads/2022/04/FEB84D08-5DF6-44AF-AF67-B4A1899B14F8-300x225.jpeg" alt="" width="300" height="225" /></a></p> <p>[player_tooltip player_id="1424415" first="Andrew" last="Moore"] (Troy): A 5’11" point guard who has a terrific feel for the game to go along with his excellent skills. He’s a talented offensive player who knows how to use screens off the ball for open jumpers. He is also smooth with the basketball in his hands with his scoring and playmaking skills.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><a href="https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/ph/uploads/2022/06/78E40CF5-DF15-4C43-92AF-8C1D7C4B3908.jpeg"><img class="alignnone size-medium wp-image-1486411" src="https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/ph/uploads/2022/06/78E40CF5-DF15-4C43-92AF-8C1D7C4B3908-300x225.jpeg" alt="" width="300" height="225" /></a></p> <p>Miyel Taylor (University City): The 6’0 guard displayed some slick handles and the ability to create off of dribble penetration. He’s a capable 3-point shooter who also used his length well on the defensive end.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <h4>2026</h4> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><a href="https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/ph/uploads/2022/06/42E25ED2-97B9-487A-84C4-890DD1247240.jpeg"><img class="alignnone size-medium wp-image-1486424" src="https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/ph/uploads/2022/06/42E25ED2-97B9-487A-84C4-890DD1247240-300x225.jpeg" alt="" width="300" height="225" /></a></p> <p>Johnny Jordan (Chaminade): The 5’11" guard is one of top incoming freshmen in the state of Missouri. He is very poised and he plays with a smooth and mature demeanor that belies his young age. He’s already a three-level scorer who can ring the bell from long distance and create off the dribble. He will also deliver a nice pass while on the move to an open teammate.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><a href="https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/ph/uploads/2022/06/88457120-5134-4B07-BEA5-2ADC8E75B8A9.jpeg"><img class="alignnone size-medium wp-image-1483051" src="https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/ph/uploads/2022/06/88457120-5134-4B07-BEA5-2ADC8E75B8A9-300x225.jpeg" alt="" width="300" height="225" /></a></p> <p>Will Salonies (Wentzville Holt): A 5’9" point guard who is very poised with a nice feel for the game. He’s a smooth lefty with good quickness and the ability to change speed and directions on the move. His court vision is excellent as he dropped some impressive dimes from as far as 40 to 50 feet.</p>
