Bunker entered the contest with a 21-0 record and ranked No. 1 in the Missouri Basketball Coaches Association Class 1 poll. Liberty entered the contest with a 17-2 record. It was also a rematch of the championship game of the Cabool Holiday Tournament, which was won by Bunker 66-53.

It looked like it was going to be another Bunker victory as it build a 13-point lead. However, Liberty made its move in the third quarter and took the lead. Liberty's lead grew to eight points, before Bunker staged a final rally, which included a last second shot that hit the front of the rim. Liberty was able to grab the final rebound and take a 59-58 victory.

Here is a look at the Top Five Stars from the Liberty-Bunker game.

NO. 1 STAR: [player_tooltip player_id='2205728' first='Brennen' last='Meloy'] (Bunker)

The 6'3" 2027 guard had a huge game in defeat as he scored a game-high 35 points. He scored eight points in the final two minutes of the game which led a late rally to put the Eagles in a position to win the game. He was getting buckets at all three levels, including 3-pointers from close to 30 feet. He also muscled his way into the lane for layups and runners while getting himself to the free throw line.

NO. 2 STAR: Blayne Altamatt (Mt. View Liberty)

The 6'4" 2027 guard came off the bench to score a team-high 16 points in what was an impressive shooting exhibition. He made five 3-pointers in the game, including three of them in the fourth quarter. His first one gave Liberty the lead to stay at 40-38 and he followed up with another one for a 43-38 lead. I liked his quick release and the deep range that he showed.

NO. 3 STAR: [player_tooltip player_id='2717774' first='Parker' last='Tune'] (Mt. View Liberty): The 6'3" 2026 guard who scored 14 points, all of which came in the second half. After a scoreless first half, he scored on an offensive rebound and converted a three-point play to get on the board. He then went coast to coast for a layup and he was off and running. The lefty scorer is an excellent slasher who was getting into the lane and getting buckets at a variety of angles in traffic.

NO. 4 STAR: Chetan Calzado (Bunker)

The 2027 guard scored 12 points as he provided some very good perimeter shooting during the evening. The young lefty scored all of his points on his four 3-pointers. He proved to be a good secondary scoring option on Monday night when defenders shaded towards standout guard [player_tooltip player_id='2205728' first='Brennen' last='Meloy'].

NO. 5 STAR: [player_tooltip player_id='2843294' first='Drayton' last='Wells'] (Mt. View Liberty)

The 6'8" 2026 forward a big impact on the game at both ends of the court. He scored eight points as he took advantage of his opportunities in the paint. He had a big presence on the defensive end as he blocked four shots. He has good timing as he came over from the weak side to get swats. He also jumped high to snatch the last rebound when Bunker's potential game-winning shot came off the rim to preserve the victory.

******

Freshman Watch

Carter Ellett (Mt. View Liberty): A 6'3" wing player who has good size and a solid build for a young player. He knocked down an open 3-pointer in the first quarter and he sat down and played some solid defense. He will definitely be one to watch in the future in the SWMO area.
