Keiser camp hosted a few teams with the talent to make news in the Miami area. We’re still five months before the season begins, and rosters aren’t final, but the teams we’ll feature today had talent that stood out above the rest on Day 2.

Team US
[caption id="attachment_1494548" align="alignright" width="150"] [player_tooltip player_id="1055745" first="Marcus" last="Allen"][/caption]
No team had more size or pedigree than Team US. 2024 prospects [player_tooltip player_id="1055745" first="Marcus" last="Allen"], [player_tooltip player_id="1163363" first="Triston" last="Wilson"], and [player_tooltip player_id="1055701" first="Jamal" last="Ware"] all had great showings. One of the younger teams in attendance but had the highest ceiling. Allen seems to have improved as a passer getting his talented teammates the ball in spots where there were effective. Wilson looked like he took a jump as a scorer and playmaker, hitting several threes and leaving the game with four assists. He’s also grown a few inches, now eye level with the 6’7 Allen. Ware stole the show showing off next-level athleticism with downhill drives and big finishes.
[caption id="attachment_1494559" align="alignleft" width="150"] [player_tooltip player_id="1163363" first="Triston" last="Wilson"][/caption]
[player_tooltip player_id="709246" first="Carl" last="Parrish"], the lone senior on the team, provided floor spacing with four threes, defense, and another ball handler that could create for himself. 6’4 wing Caleb Clarke adds shooting depth, size, and athleticism to a talented core.

The underclassmen have their own line of potential with 2025 Siah Blot and 2026 Marcis Ponder. Blot knocked down several corner threes while holding his own on the defensive end. Ponder didn’t play much, but 6’11 bigs don’t grow on trees. The incoming freshman has an impressive frame with long arms and wants to run the floor. We’ll see more of the young big man at CP3 Rising Stars Camp.
[caption id="attachment_1494563" align="alignright" width="150"] Marcis Ponder[/caption]
I spoke with Allen and Parrish about recruiting looks since the summer began. Allen says Missouri, Florida State, FGCU, Arizona State, and Miami have been the most active teams. Parrish noted D3 and NAIA interest since his time with the Nightrydas.

Keys Gate
[caption id="attachment_1494565" align="alignleft" width="150"] Julio Monzon[/caption]
Andre Velez might be undersized, but he can get away with the way he shoots. He’s an automatic catch and shoot threat from all over the court. He rarely turns the ball over during the camp and his junior season.

The edition of Julio Monzon adds another playmaker to the team. At 6’3, he can whip pass out of pick and rolls, finish through contact, and make defensive plays. He’s a slick ball handler that I’ll have our south Florida guys monitor throughout his senior year.

Miami Central
[caption id="attachment_1494571" align="alignright" width="150"] Leonardo Perez[/caption]
Leonardo Perez is a 6’5 forward that fights for every board. His size and length allowed him to effect shots in the paint. He flashed back to the basket and face up skills on offense.
[caption id="attachment_1494572" align="alignleft" width="150"] Oscar Sanchez[/caption]
Oscar Sanchez is a feisty lead guard. In all three games, he showed next-level quickness, playmaking IQ, and self-creation on offense. He routinely gets downhill and knows how to create contact while finishing the play. Sanchez’s a tough defender who isn’t afraid to get in his opponent’s body for deflections.

2024 Markus Zenck rounds out Central’s trio. He’s an attentive off ball defender that caused turnovers and deflections. Zenck scores off the ball with range out to three and fast break finishes. He has all the traits you’d look for in a good teammate.
