Anthony Sullivan (Team Buddy Buckets 2024 5’7″) – The guard from Andover high school has a sniper that doesn’t need much space to get it off. With his quick release and amazing form, he gets it off quick and has range on his jumper so you have to guard him the moment he steps onto the court. Sullivan has developed his game to where he can shoot it off the bounce or the screen. If you press up too much he will look to blow by you and pull up to get back into his jumper so be careful, Anthony is a problem when he is looking for his shot.
Canaan McElroy (Team Buddy Buckets 2025 6’) – Canaan is the sharpshooter for this team buddy buckets team and it’s not hard to see why. On any drive and kick situation, he is looking to shoot it, especially from the corner 3. He shoots it pretty consistently and that’s been who he has been for the majority of his playing career so far. McElroy has grown to expand his game by defending and his growth spurt has helped him tremendously so now he’s shooting over defenders that are shorter than him or that just flat out have their hands down.
Jaret Sanchez (SSA Black 2025 6’4″) – If Sanchez isn’t shooting the 3 off the pick and pop for his SSA team then check his temperature because there’s something wrong. He lit it up all weekend at the midwest grind session tournament from 3 consistently. It didn’t matter much if you were closing out early or you were late, if he put it up in the flow of the game it was pretty much a done deal. He is a huge reason for SSA success so far this summer and will look to continue to light it up.
Makaen Hastings Makaen Hastings 5'11" | PG Salina South | 2023 KS (PGU Hoops 2023 5’11″) – The guard for PGU hoops was a spark off the bench when I was watching. Hastings subbed into the game and became an instant spark to the game when he checked in with his ability to score it off the bench. Hastings can catch and shoot it or he can knock it down off the bounce creating for himself. Makaen can not only shoot it but he has a really good handle and knows how to combine the two and use them when he has mismatches.
Determine Russel (Hunt United 2024 5’10″) – The guard for hunt united and life prep has flown under the radar because of the heavy seniors they have but he is making a name for himself with no hesitation. Something that’s overlooked that Russel has is his footwork. The guard has amazing footwork when creating his own shot or getting into his catch and shoot situations. You might’ve heard the legend Ray Allen say “footwork makes shots” well this lefty took notes and mastered it. already being a lefty that throws defenders off, he can shoot from anyone and does it with confidence rather he is on balance or off balance.
