6’7 SF Souleymane Barro Souleymane Barro 6'7" | SF Layton Christian | 2023 State UT || Layton Christian Academy || Kongo Elite ||
When he is not suiting up for his high school team you can kind of see more of a 3-4 type of game than a 5, which he often looks like when he is playing for his high school team. This Spring he has shown that he is more than just a player in the paint. He has a nice one dribble pull-up as he can get some space off of one dribble and off the dribble he’s got some good moves. He’s long and blocks shots and runs the floor very well. In a pick n’ roll he makes great decisions with the ball as he finds pockets in the defense and cutters. Impressive somewhat off the radar player.
6’1 PG Jaxon Smith Jaxon Smith 6'1" | PG Woods Cross | 2023 State UT || Woods Cross High School || Idaho Select ||
Jaxon ended the high school season by surprising everyone with his overall elite play. He keeps it rolling this Spring running with Idaho Select. Jaxon is playing good minutes and his constant activity on the defensive end in those passing lanes or catching players sleeping he is creating havoc. His foundation is his three-point shooting and he is building off of that. He is really quick when it comes to finding his spots and getting his feet set. His footwork is really good and when he is off the ball he moves well and finds pockets in the defense that allow him to get his shots up quickly. Really like that he has been working on his handles and his mid-range as well. They both compliment his game very well. He is getting quicker off the bounce and he is finding open players. He is not just a scorer from deep anymore as he is developing into an all-around PG. Spacing is key as he either creates it with his dribbling or simply pushing through or away.
6’9 C Brayden Whitehead Brayden Whitehead 6'10" | C Bingham | 2023 State UT || Bingham High School || Utah Premier ||
Brayden is one of those raw talents that has been putting in work this offseason. He is a busy kid doing track as well as some club and high school basketball in his free-time. Last season Brayden got bigger minutes as the season progressed and he was able to show he could alter and block shots. Near the rim he is solid and he did also show some jump shooting ability as well. Brayden is getting his timing down a little better and his post moves are expanding and he is getting more confidence making moves to the basket. He doesn’t look as raw anymore but he has more to develop.
6’0 SG Jaxson Workman Jaxson Workman 6'0" | SG Murray | 2023 State UT || Murray High School || Salt Lake Rebels ||
Jaxson has been really getting better with his handle. He is in a system that allows freedom and there are multiple players on his squad that can handle the ball which allows him to play off the ball and really score from beyond the arc and more. In high school it is similar and he will have opportunities to spread the floor and create for others as well.
