RYZE Live Showcase I: Standout Posts Pt. 1

2023 6-5 PF [player_tooltip player_id="1201504" first="Grant" last="Erickson"] – Atlanta Timberwolves Green – Marist
When you lace them up against [player_tooltip player_id="1201504" first="Grant" last="Erickson"], expect to come away battered and bruised. He’s a physical force in the paint, carving out space to gobble up rebounds at a high rate. While he might not have elite height or a 40-inch vertical, Erickson is mauler that knows how to use his body to secure every loose ball in his area. He posts hard, engaging his defender with a physical seal to show his guards where he wants the ball delivered. With his back to the basket, he can score on hook shots and up-and-unders. Needless to say, Grant easily scores through contact, absorbing any bumps along the way. In a 73-65 win against the GA Trendsetters, Erickson didn’t play the first half and saw his team trail 38-32. When he arrived and entered the game, he quickly swung momentum and finished with 11 points, 7 rebounds, 1 assist and 1 steal in just one half of play.

2025 6-3 F Luke Godwin – Wood Elite Black – Creekview
The stingy defense Luke Godwin provided inside in a loss to TSF was impressive. Giving up plenty of size down low, Godwin didn’t relent an inch and did a great job timing shots to alter them. He swatted away five blocks off the bench.

2023 6-3 C [player_tooltip player_id="820311" first="Nathan" last="Rodriguez"] – NME – North Paulding
Still recovering from an ankle injury, the Big Dog had a vintage performance on Saturday, taking over in a five-minute span where he scored 13 of his 15 points in the blink of an eye. Rodriguez was in his bag of tricks down low, using spins, up-and-unders, hook shots and overall patient and perfect footwork to score. There is no other post player in Georgia, that I would recommend learning from than [player_tooltip player_id="820311" first="Nathan" last="Rodriguez"] when it comes to scoring with your back to the basket. He will be a fantastic big man trainer one day if he so chooses.

2023 6-5 PF [player_tooltip player_id="1444763" first="Darius" last="Reynolds"] – GA Fire Premier – Cedar Grove
Strapped with muscle, [player_tooltip player_id="1444763" first="Darius" last="Reynolds"] is an imposing big man that bangs inside and gets on the offensive glass. The bruiser nicknamed “Boogie” can also step outside to hit the occasional mid-range jumper. Reynolds plays hard and is a double-double threat.

2023 6-6 PF [player_tooltip player_id="1444764" first="Will" last="Hunter"] – HoopAtlanta – Midtown
There is upside within [player_tooltip player_id="1444764" first="Will" last="Hunter"]’s game. He’s a mobile big man that runs the floor very well. He can catch on the move and finish in a fluid motion. Hunter has a nice stroke and converts at a good clip from the foul line. He could develop into a stretch-four at the next level.
