The rising senior class ranking has updated and, with an influx of talent in the state, some big shifts are in order. We have quite a few big risers and many new faces in our top 200 prospects, so our panelists’ answers will be varied.

Who’s your favorite riser?

Allen Pettigrew Jr.: [player_tooltip player_id="1463277" first="Trent" last="Lincoln"] is my favorite riser. The 6’3 guard has used his athleticism to transform into one of the shiftiest guards in all of Florida. He’s risen from off the radar to D1 status after competing for a state championship and exploding on the travel circuit. My honorable mentions are [player_tooltip player_id="962380" first="John" last="Ziegler"] and [player_tooltip player_id="1164282" first="Max" last="Sims"], who jumped into the top 90 and top 50, respectively.

Michael Costeines: I like [player_tooltip player_id="1463287" first="Blake" last="Wilson"] out of Dwyer. Solid 6’6 shooter ranked at 91. Good spot to move up from.

Mark Holland: [player_tooltip player_id="1060244" first="Mason" last="Sword"] - St. Joseph’s Academy

Which prospect from your area is ranked too low?

Allen Pettigrew Jr.: [player_tooltip player_id="1463427" first="Ahmad" last="Cidi-Jalloh"] and [player_tooltip player_id="709261" first="Amon" last="Whitlow"] are my picks for ranked too low. Cidi-Jalloh is one of the better defensive guards in the area. I’ve seen him make big defensive plays to win or mount a comeback time and time again. Another strong defensive season and a larger offensive presence could see him rise in the rankings.

For Whitlow, he’s a true lead guard that averaged 18.2 points, 3.2 assists, 7.5 rebounds, and 3.7 steals for a struggling team. He’s continued his hot play with PSB Tampa. A more successful high school season should help him rise.

Michael Costeines: I would say [player_tooltip player_id="1164250" first="Derrick" last="Edouard"] and [player_tooltip player_id="1408957" first="Marvin" last="Golf"] are two players that are ranked too low. Edouard is a long kid that can really shoot the ball. Golf at 114 I think is a nice upside pick given how good lake worth was last season.

Mark Holland: De’[player_tooltip player_id="1055745" first="Marcus" last="Allen"] - San Jose Prep

Who has the potential to outplay their ranking next season?

Allen Pettigrew Jr.: [player_tooltip player_id="1310856" first="Hasani" last="Rivera"] has a chance of outplaying his ranking with Orlando Christian Prep losing a lot of frontcourt talent to graduation. Rivera is emerging as a versatile, athletic big man. He’s still working on a go to skill but as a young big (won’t turn 17 after the summer) he has the upside and prospective minutes to put together a resume worth rising in the rankings.

Michael Costeines: I’d take [player_tooltip player_id="962427" first="Koree" last="Cotton"]. Big kid out of the guard spot. Can score down low. Athletic on the run.

Mark Holland: [player_tooltip player_id="1295978" first="Thomas" last="Faucett"] - Orange Park

Anyone you think will play their way onto this list?

Allen Pettigrew Jr.: 6’7 forward Xavier Gordon-Somer has a chance to play his way onto the tail end of our rankings. He already has the size, length, and offensive versatility to be just a few spots outside of the top 200. An increase in feel and athleticism would give him the bump he needs.

Mark Holland: Connor Bailey - Eagle’s View Academy
