The Hustle Region Circuit consists of AAU Programs from California, Oregon, Washington, Arizona, Utah, Montana, Idaho, Colorado, and New Mexico. The circuit features 10 stops including the Hustle Region Final in Irvine July 15th – 17th. Stop number 5 sends us to Irvine California, for the Hustle In The Sun, where we will have everyone playing under one roof inside the Momentous Sports Arena. The event was home to several talented wing players. In this article, we take a look at the top wings from the event.
JJ Martin 6’7 SF LA Elite 2024 (featured image) – Martin was breathtaking. He’s a long agile athletic forward with a high ceiling. Martin was impressive in transition using some euro steps and finishing with a few high-flying dunks. His dunks weren’t just limited to fast breaks either as he showed explosion and quick-twitch throwing down a couple dunks in the half-court set. He is a very skilled player that actually played some point for the Elite, bringing the ball up out of more than one dead ball situation.
Jordan Espinoza 6’3 SG Swoosh Elite 2024 – A good at every type player, Espinoza found buckets around the basket and in transition. He also showed a good stroke, knocking down a couple of threes in the game I watched. He has good size and is a decent athlete, Espinoza showed a surprisingly quick 1st jump when competing for in traffic rebounds.
Zane Goldman 6’0 SG Coastal Elite 2023 – Every week it’s someone new for Coastal Elite, and I thought this weekend it was Goldman. He shot the ball well, which always helps, but he also showed that he can score in other ways, slashing to the bucket for a couple of layups in the game I saw.
Curtis Coleman 6’2 SG Nevada Hard 2 Guard 2026 – Coleman is a young player to keep an eye on. His game has improved a little each time I’ve watched him, and now his frame is starting to take shape. He has long arms and is starting to develop some lean muscle. He is also developing a nice offensive package, complete with step-backs, side steps, and slashing ability. As he starts to understand how to use his frame, watch out.
Peyton Slaughter 6’2 SG BTI 2024 – Slaughter shoots what can only be described as a corkscrew jumper. He’s effective at making it. His shooting is actually just one of his many skills. Slaughter is a competitive player that competed for rebounds and made his way to the bucket off the bounce.
Amaan Zavahir 6’3 SG LA Elite 2024 – Zavahir was consistent throughout the weekend. He surprised with his athleticism, throwing down a couple dunks, and flashed some skill. Zavahir was accurate from behind the 3-point line and showed some handle when attacking defenders on the perimeter.
