CLP Elite, Southern Indiana Blaze and Chicago Lockdown were able to come out with victories in the games I caught. This article will break down the prospects who stood out to me from Friday night.
Parker Davidson, 6’2 SG 2023 CLP Elite (OH) Davidson had a huge Junior season, scoring over 28 PPG for Bradford. The lefty proved his ability to shoot the basketball from the outside by catching fire late and pushing his team over the edge. Davidson can finish with his right hand and makes smart passes. While he’s flown under the radar, he’s a small town standout who small colleges should be checking out.
Silas Harris-Coleman, 6’7 C 2022 Pride Roc (WI) Providing good size on the interior, Silas Harris-Coleman had moments of domination throughout the game with CLP Elite. I liked his ability to score on the block, using his strength to bully opposing forwards. Harris-Coleman also made himself available in the paint off cuts when his guards broke down the defense with the dribble drive. A capable rim protector, I liked the flashes that he showed on the defensive end as well. JUCO programs should be looking at Harris-Coleman to add some size this late in the recruiting cycle.
Richard Dube Richard Dube 6'4" | SF Perry Meridian | 2023 State IN , 6’4 SF 2023 Indiana Elite Swish (IN) Despite playing with just five players, Indiana Elite Swish used a balanced attack to stay competitive until the last three minutes of their battle with Southern Indiana Blaze. Dube moved well without the basketball and found himself wide open underneath the basket multiple times in the game. Dube also has a quick gear he can turn to in transition to blow by defenders. Despite the loss, I was impressed with how Indiana Elite Swish shared the ball and competed with so few players.
Matthew Arthur, 6’1 CG 2023 Southern Indiana Blaze (IN) Arthur got going in the second half and pushed his team over the edge with smart drives to the basket and tough finishes over taller defenders. Arthur won’t blow you away with athleticism, but his driving game is based on taking smart angles to the hoop and playing off two feet where he’s balanced. Arthur has a knack for scoring the basketball and did it in bunches late to give his team the win.
Myles Colvin Myles Colvin 6'5" | SG Heritage Christian | 2023 State #51 Nation IN , 6’5 SF 2023 INB Elite (IN) Colvin is a super athlete and has continued to hit the weight room since the last time I saw him almost a year ago. Throwing down a powerful jam off an offensive rebound got the gym rocking and Colvin had many drives to the basket where the only option the defense had was to foul him. Colvin is a classic Purdue recruit and could be a great program piece for Matt Painter.
Matthew Moore Matthew Moore 6'7" | PF Hillcrest | 2023 State IL , 6’9 C 2023 Chicago Lockdown (IL) Moore didn’t come close to leading his team in scoring, but his athleticism and activity around the basket was huge for his team in a winning effort. Moore has springs in his shoes with great leaping ability to sky for rebounds and block shots. Moore was active around the basket looking for the ball and had a big two-way impact in a win.
