It was hard on choosing which players to include, as many in the state are good enough to be included. Here are 5 players who could sneak into the top 75.
Luke Blachly Luke Blachly 6'4" | SF Archbishop Murphy | 2023 State WA -Archbishop Murphy
Luke is extremely good at using his body down low when going against bigger defenders. He boxes out every play and has great anticipation for where the ball is going when coming off the rim. Luke on the offensive side is an effective shooter, especially from deep. The senior to-be can shoot with just about anyone in the Wesco 2A/3A conference. Blachly also works very well off the pick and roll, being able to set a extremely solid screen and either roll to the basket or pop out and hit the deep shot.
Coston Parcher Coston Parcher 6'0" | PG Lynden | 2023 State WA -Lynden HS
I mentioned Coston a couple weeks back, mainly talking about how he has a very high basketball IQ on the court. Parcher is also extremely solid on the defensive side on the ball. He always has his hands out and moves his feet with ease, usually staying in front of his opponent. The 2023 guard plays with a lot of confidence. He’s never scared to shoot the deep shot, usually hitting it. With the Lions winning a lot of games in his time there so far, including becoming a 1A state champion last season, he is used to the pressure situations.
Miles Clark Miles Clark 6'7" | SF O'Dea | 2023 State WA -O’Dea HS
With the Metro League always stacked with talent, the 2022 class was no different. With the talent being present in the league, Clark went sort of under the radar. Miles is very lanky and athletic. His wingspan helps him snag rebounds over defenders, his determination to get the loose ball also helps him. He plays with a lot of energy and can really be a problem down low. Next season he is set for a big, breakout year for O’Dea HS. The 6’7″ 2023 grad can easily sneak into our top 75, based off his very solid junior campaign and having the tools to become a D1 prospect.
Maddox Preder Maddox Preder 6'0" | CG Lake Stevens | 2023 State WA -Lake Stevens HS
Maddox had a fantastic season last year for Lake Stevens. He averaged 18 points, 5 assists, 4 rebounds, and 2 steals a game as a junior and is poised to grow even more for his senior year. Maddox has a very explosive first step when driving by his opponents, making it easy for him to blow by them and get to the rim. He also finds his teammates very well, if the lane is clogged. After shooting 40% from three point range, he will look to become one of the top shooters in the class. Preder also shot 55% from the field, his quick step back make it easy for him to create space to get his shot in.
Emmett Fenz Emmett Fenz 6'6" | SF Ellensburg | 2023 State WA -Ellensburg HS
With the CWAC 2A conference not getting very much attention compared to the other conferences around the state and playing with other very solid players, Fenz has gone under the radar a little. The Ellensburg HS senior to-be has a very solid frame being 6’5″ 200lbs. Emmett is effective off the pick and roll, getting to the basket while using his body. He can finish through traffic terrifically, finishing MANY tough baskets down low while getting the and-1. Another thing that stands out is his deep shot, he consistently knocks it down. He has good anticipation when grabbing rebounds. After averaging 14points/6rebounds/4assists during his junior campaign, he is set for another big season next year.
