College Commitment: Noah Ogoli (2022 Tualatin)
After a tremendous senior season that saw him earn First Team All-State honors and win a state title, the next step for Noah Ogoli Noah Ogoli 6'2" | CG Tualatin | 2022 State OR – determine where he would play after high school. There was no shortage of options at a number of different levels for the aggressive 6-foot-2 combo guard, which made decision-making tricky. Ogoli took some campus visits to help him whittle things down and when it all came to a head, it was Eastern Arizona that came out on top for him to start his college career.
“I felt like there are still more opportunities to play at a high level and felt like this was my starting point,” Ogoli said. “I feel like now I can really focus on my main sport after track and make a big improvement in my game, then see where it takes me.”
Ogoli made his decision not long after making a visit to campus, where he got a chance to look around and meet with new head coach Cameron Turner. “I liked that the college is basically the main part of the town so I would spend most of my time there,” Ogoli said. “Also, I know the coach is hard on his players which is going to push me to be better every day.”
In Thatcher, Ogoli will be joining 2022 classmate Raysean Seamster Raysean Seamster 6'6" | SF Roosevelt | 2022 State OR and his older brother Deray as newcomers, as the pipeline from Oregon to Thatcher, Arizona continues on. Ogoli is excited about the time ahead but knows there will be work to do before and once he puts on the Gila Monster jersey.
“The main aspect of my game that I’m going to be working on is getting my three-point consistent and work on my range,” Ogoli said. “And work on my floater because you need that for sure at the next level.”
Ogoli averaged a team-high 16.0 points, 3.3 rebounds, 2.8 assists, and 1.9 steals while shooting 50 percent from the field and almost 38 percent from three-point range this past season with Tualatin. He currently ranks as the #9 player in the PrepHoops Oregon Class of 2022 rankings. Our congratulations go out to him and his family on his decision.
