Isaac Bruns Isaac Bruns 6'4" | SG Dakota Valley | 2023 State SD 6’4’’ SD Attack
Isaac’s ability to catch and shoot is second to none. It didn’t take teams long to realize this. Most know by now that Isaac is a pure scorer, but one aspect of his game that shouldn’t go unrecognized is his ability to rebound. Even in traffic against taller players, Isaac continued to come down with some big rebounds. Isaac capped off his great weekend with a game-winning three to win in overtime.
Jackson Edman Jackson Edman 6'7" | SF Pierre | 2023 State SD 6’7’’ Sacred Hoops Bertram
Jackson did an excellent job this weekend at making his presence be felt and crashing the boards and protecting the rim. Jackson is a 6’7’’ big but got out in transition multiple times. He also did a great job at guarding smaller wings on the perimeter when he had to.
Matt Eng Matt Eng 6'0" | PG O’gorman | 2023 State SD 6’2’’ Pentagon Schoolers Walker
One word to describe this young man: shooter! Matt did a great job at hitting open shots. His ability to shoot from three is elite. Matt had multiple great moments throughout the weekend. In one of the most exciting comeback wins of the tournament, Matt scored 5 points in overtime by hitting a corner three to take the lead and two free throws to seal it.
Gavin Muirhead Gavin Muirhead 6'7" | PF O'gorman | 2023 State SD 6’7’’ Pentagon Schoolers Walker
Gavin isn’t the first high-flying Muirhead to be on the scenes at Prep Hoops. A couple of years ago his brother was turning heads with dunks heard throughout the gym. Now, Gavin is doing the same. Gavin all weekend was using his athletic ability to contest shots, rebound, and finish at the rim.
Kaden Year Kaden Year 6'2" | SF O'gorman | 2023 State SD 6’6’’ SD Attack
Kaden is one of the more underrated players in South Dakota. Even on a very good team, he found himself consistently in double digits this weekend. The most impressive aspect of his game is his ability to guard positions 1-5. This weekend he was primarily playing solid defense on the perimeter but then also able to battle down low in the post. Even when players got a step on him, his 6’6’’ frame deflected and bothered shots all weekend.
