Jack Field — House Of Wellness All Stars — PF
I really loved what Field was able to do a couple of weeks ago in Appleton. I thought that the forward did a nice job of getting to his spots and converting on pull up jump shots. In addition to scoring well, Field did a great job of blocking shots and rebounding. Possessing all of the physical attributes necessary to dominate, Field is a name that college coaches should have underlined heading into Battle At The Lakes.
Blaise Porter Blaise Porter 6'1" | PG New London | 2023 State #298 Nation IA — Iowa Barnstormers — PG
Porter is a prototypical point guard prospect who can do it all. He has a super quick first step which he uses to blow by his defender. And once he is past his defender and attacking downhill, Porter uses his athleticism and strong build to convert at the cup. He is also a phenomenal passer and ball handler. He does a wonderful job of running his team’s offense.
Tate Petersen Tate Petersen 6'1" | PG Monticello | 2023 State IA — Iowa Mavs — PG
Petersen could end up being a perfect fit for a D-2 program. He put up big numbers during the high school season and he has continued to play at a high level during the spring AAU period. The point guard makes the right plays on offense. He knows when to pass and when to score. Overall, Petersen is a solid prospect that you would love if he was on your team but hate if he wasn’t
Darrin Ames — Mac Irvin Fire EYBL — PG
Ames is going to be an impact player at the next level — I have little doubt in that. The point guard is blazing fast in the open court and can be a big-time problem in transition. He is also a crafty finisher who has no issues converting on tough layups around contact. Ames is coming off a huge April and he is poised to be a top name in Minneapolis.
Matthew Bothun Matthew Bothun 6'9" | PF St. Francis | 2023 State MN — Minnesota Fury — PF
Ranked as a top 15 prospect in Minnesota’s 2023 class, Bothun solidified his spot so far this spring. I really like his ability to stretch the defense and knockdown outside shots. Because of his versatility on the offensive end, Bothun is a huge matchup problem. He is too big for smaller defenders and too skilled for bigger defenders.
Khalif Bettis Khalif Bettis 6'6" | SF Burnsville | 2023 State MN — Minnesota Chill — SF
Bettis is in the midst of a huge spring. He has really made a strong impression with scouts at previous Prep Hoops tournaments. There is no reason why his strong play shouldn’t continue in Minneapolis. Bettis is a super talented scorer that puts a lot of pressure on opposing defenses. He scores really well in the midrange and in the paint.
Vincent Vandervest Vincent Vandervest 6'4" | SF Bay Port | 2023 State WI — Team 1848 — SG
Playing for a very good Team 1848 squad, Vandervest has been able to make a huge positive impact for his squad this spring. The shooting guard is strong and athletic. He does a nice job of using these attributes to score in the paint. Whenever Team 1848 needs a shot in the arm, it is Vandervest who always delivers.
