17U all-tournament teams from Battle At The Lakes:

First Team:

Taison Chatman -- CG -- D1 Minnesota

Chatman is such a good overall basketball player. The shooting guard holds scholarship offers from many top college programs. And after watching him play this past weekend at Battle At The Lakes, it is easy to see why Chatman is so highly touted. The CG is a smooth scorer who makes shots from outside with ease. He is also an effective passer and creative finisher around the rim. Chatman led D1 Minnesota to a 4-0 record on the weekend.

Darrin Ames -- CG -- Mac Irvin Fire

I really am starting to fall in love with the game of Ames. The combo guard was phenomenal all weekend. The offensive game of Ames is just so complete. He scores at the rim, makes threes, and has tremendous court vision. Ames has been one of my favorite prospects to watch this spring. The CG is so dynamic. Playing for Mac Irvin Fire, Ames was one of the best prospects in Minnesota.

Jordan Clayton -- PG -- Mass Rivals

Clayton is a strong two-way prospect who had a very productive weekend in Minneapolis. The point guard makes threes, finishes well at the rim, and competes hard on defense. I thought that Clayton was really great as an on-ball defender. He is very quick and physical, as he does a good job of sliding his feet to stay in front of whoever he is guarding. Clayton has a couple of Division One offers. I expect him to earn some more before the spring ends.

Kaydn Betts -- PF -- PLUTO Prospects

Betts has been outstanding this spring. Playing in a handful of Prep Hoops Circuit tournaments, the power forward has made a name for himself. Betts stands at 6-foot-9 and has good strength to go along with his height. He also just happens to be extremely skilled. He makes shots around the rim, knocks down outside jumpers, and plays solid defense. College programs should take a look at Betts before it is too late.

Nasir Whitlock -- PG -- Gain Elite

Whitlock was one of the best point guards competing in Minneapolis this past weekend. He was very impressive, especially on the offensive end. Whitlock has a super dangerous pull up jumper. When he gets to his spots and gets off a jumper, Whitlock’s shot almost always goes in. The PG is also a physical defender who doesn’t back down from challenges. As a nationally ranked prospect, Whitlock continued to raise his stock.

Second Team:

Colby Dolphin -- PG -- Iowa Prep

Dolphin is a tough, physical point guard who had a huge weekend for Iowa Prep. He plays tough defense and is an efficient scorer. I love how Dolphin plays within the offense and gets teammates open shots.

Vince Vandervest -- SG -- Team 1848

Vandervest was one of the biggest stock risers from Minnesota. The Team 1848 shooting guard is a fearless slasher who makes big plays at the rim. He has good athleticism and strength, which he uses to convert on difficult shots.

Dallas Bear -- SF -- Iowa Barnstormers

Bear is a big-time player on the offensive end. When he is on the floor, Bear gets a lot of respect from opposing defenders. The small forward is a sniper from three and has impressed as a post scorer.

Khalif Bettis -- SF -- Minnesota Chill

Bettis is a true three-level scorer who was really fun to watch this past weekend. The small forward stands at 6-foot-5 and uses his size to his advantage. Bettis finishes well through contact and does a nice job of shooting over smaller defenders.

Max Shikenjanski -- PG -- Minnesota Chill

Shikenjanski is just so much fun to watch. He competes really hard on both ends and has a ton of skill. He shoots it well, makes shots at the rim, and does a great job of passing to open teammates.

Third Team:

JJ Ware -- SF -- Gain Elite

Isaac Bruns -- G -- SD Attack

Rasheed Jones -- SG -- Mac Irvin Fire

Tate Haughenbury -- PF -- Iowa Prep

Bennett Fried -- SF -- Coulee Country
