We are well into the spring sports season and that includes baseball. The weather has not been perfect and teams have missed plenty of games. That is especially so in North Dakota. Some teams have played only a few games because of the awful snow storms, rain, and wet conditions. That is enough negativity! Let’s look at talented basketball players that also stand out in baseball.

He was an All-Region baseball player last season. This season Sam and the Squirrels have had an excellent start. Kobbervig is a smooth-fielding middle infielder. He bats #2 for CC. Sam is a great contact hitter with power to the gaps and he rarely strikes out. In basketball, Sam plays AAU ball with ECI and he is primed for a monster summer. Kobbervig will be one of the best players in Region 1 hoops next season.

This lightning-quick player was All-Region in baseball last season. Brayden was a big part of the Dell Rapids State Championship last year. Brayden bats leadoff and he plays centerfield. Here is a crazy stat, Pankonen has never made an error in high school baseball! In basketball, Brayden is an elite 3-point shooter. This lefty is a playmaker on both ends of the floor. He is off to an excellent start in AAU hoops as well. Pankonen plays for Pentagon Schoolers Maschino.

He is a star baseball player with a super bright future ahead of him. Henry is a power hitter and a player that pitchers need to worry about. Jack is looking like a BIG-TIME baseball recruit. On the hardwood, Henry is also impressive. He put up quality numbers this season in school ball and I expect Jack to be a DUDE next year. He can stroke it from deep and hammer down dunks. Henry is an impressive athlete.
